Kemba is our starting point guard and there is no arguing over that! (even if you don't like it). we have one other pg on our roster with Brian Roberts. Brian is a servicable back up. in the time that kemba was out before we got Mo he didn't do bad. the thing is he doesn't score, just sort of manages the game. then when Mo came everything changed. We had a score first point guard again. For brain there wasn't enough talent with the second or first team for him to do his thing. I personally would like to bring back Mo, but he is hinting that he is going to Cleveland. so with our mid level exception who could we target? Well, Aaron Craft is on our summer team but i don't see him making the team or any other Pg from the summer league. Maybe Aaron Harrison but i worry about his ability to play the point. Aaron Craft just doesn't fit what we need with our back up Pg.

The 2nd team will consist of 1??? 2 Lamb 3 Marvin 4 Cody 5 Hawes

Now there isnt much of scorer up there. maybe Lamb if he starts to drive but basically just people that need to be hit wide open for them to make the shot. well if the one is just a manager pg like Roberts, they could defend the perimeter and put a big guy in the middle and we would have nothing. happened alot last year. but when we got Mo he could abuses the isolation's and take it to the rack or create his own shot. causing help defense which opened up guys last year. Allowing other guys to get points. But, who is a score first point Guard?

Nate Robinson.  Give him the keys and let him lead the 2nd team. a good 3 point shooter.405% year he was with the Bulls. he can dribble and i believe his vertical 44". truly a freak for only being 5'9. he would abuse the isolation and cause help defense and find these guys for there open shot.  also he is one of the most exciting player to watch and who doesn't like cheering for the short guy? The last couple of seasons he was the back up playing within the system. we need him to just be himself and he could go off for big games. The contract money wouldn't be a lot as he played very little with the Clippers last year after he got hurt.

if anyone else has an idea for Free agents Feel Free to post them.

Edit: Sorry about the Embedding. i suck at it

Neither was spud Webb or that little guy we had that might have been in space jam. Think it was bouges? (Saracasm)

Has any of them won anything worth mentioning outside of the dunk contest for Spud Webb. History shows that smaller PG struggle to defend at a high level. This is a PG driven league and we will regret paying Kemba 40 million. Smh

Linnsanity, Mo Williams, Aaron Brooks, Nate Robinson, CJ Watson, Jameer Nelson, Andre Miller

^^^All can bring something to the team. Another player I would like to see, but not a PG, is Gerald Green given a shot on the cheap here. I have always liked his game.

Don't know if this would be better in this thread or the FA rumors one, but Woj just tweeted that we have been open to doing a sign and trade for Mo, being that we technically still own his FA rights with the cap hold.

I could definitely see us using this to leverage something we'd like...  And we wouldn't have to use our MLE in the process.

Any idea who the trade might be with?

    • Yep. I was hoping for and calling for a day three guy. But I didn’t research the position to say if we should or should‘t have jumped at a particular guy at a particular spot.    And everything I read said it was a poor draft for RBs depth wise. I guess when Seattle takes a backup RB in the 1st, that kind of backs that up.    I definitely think we should keep 4 running backs and if King can play well enough then keep him too.    I believe I heard Canales say we are a running team (talking about drafting a WR he will be needing to block as well as catch). Well if we are gonna be a running team by identity we don’t need to stock the WR room to overflowing. If one room has to sacrifice, it should not be the RB room given our circumstances.
    • If there's a pattern I'm definitely picking up from Dan and company is a philosophy of making trades where we try not to sacrifice the number of draft picks we have by day's end. In other words, we're not giving up three picks for one, or giving up a future pick to make a pick today. And even if we give up something at the start, we make trades later to make up for that initial loss. Here's how it stacked up for 2026: How we started: 19, 51, 83, 119, 158, 159, 200 How we ended: 19, 49, 83, 129, 144, 151, 227 (no future picks sacrificed) Ultimately, we moved up two spots in the second to ensure we got someone we coveted, gave up a few spots for our fourth round pick, but then had better picks in the 5th (and got really good value out of them), and had a worse 7th rounder which isn't that big of a loss anyways.  At this point, we can question who they draft, but they're pretty good maneuvering across the draft board.
    • I just saw the funniest thing...or very disappointing, depending how you handle misery. A guy on YouTube did a 2027 'way too early' mock draft.  If I told you the simulator has the Panthers selecting in the top 10 , what would you say?  If I told you it was pick #8 and only two QBs were taken in the top 7, what would you say?  If I told you this dude had us taking a defensive player, what would you say?
