Madden question

I wanna say its calculated off of avg per. I also believe the signing bonus factors into the hit but only on the 1st year or a one year deal. Its been awhile since ive legitly done free agency. I usually just change everyone with one year left on their contract to kickers and punters at the end of the season.

I'm having a hard time deciding who to cut and re-sign for the following season because it doesn't tell me what the cap is for the next season. How do I calculate it?

Do you mean the overall cap increase or the cap hit a player is going to make? The overall cap, I noticed, does NOT go up $10M per year like it has been. It was much more modest...maybe less than 5? I'm not 100% sure. If it is the cap hit a player will be then SC is right...the bonus comes out of cash and the cap hit is distributed in that backloaded style which is one of many things I wish you could change.

I would say it goes up by about 3-5 million a year. I played 30 seasons (I think the Panthers won 24 SuperBowls) and I noticed that the cap did not go up as drastically as it did in real life. Maybe 3-5 per year.

    • The lack of discipline has seriously been our downfall the last month. Seems like we just went off course this last month and Lee won't address it. You can't just live and die by the 3 when you can attack the paint and at worst draw a foul
    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
