Brandon Browner: I’d like another stint with Seahawks after Saints deal is up

Cornerback Brandon Browner hasn’t played a snap for the Saints yet, but he apparently isn’t letting that get in the way of thinking about what he’d like to do when his three-year contract with New Orleans is up.

Browner was at former Seahawks teammateRichard Sherman’s charity softball game at Safeco Field in Seattle on Sunday and Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times reports that Browner said he wants to return for a second tour of duty with the Seahawks after he’s played out his pact with the Saints.

That's assuming Browner will be around NO before those three years up. This division features Olsen, Jones, Benjamin, Evans, Funchess, Jackson, and White. He could out of a job long before then.

Brandon Browner has been a starting CB on 2 SB teams. I'm going to assume that's because he can play a little...

so i suppose that's a vote of confidence from you on michael oher then

I think Oher was a decent RT in Baltimore. I think he's sucked on the left side.

My statement also didn't mean that because someone has won a SB, they're automatically great players. I'm just saying that he won a Super Bowl with the Hawks as a starting corner and went to the Pats and won another one as a starting corner.

What has Oher done since the Ravens SB? Been moved to the left side. Sucked it up. Got moved back to the right. Wasn't resigned. Sucked in Tennessee.

Most Saints fans seem to be pretty pissed off at this.  He should've just kept his mouth shut regarding this.

Don't count me as one. All he said was after his contract was up he hoped to go back to Seattle. I have no problem with that. Seems like he's got a lot of friends on that team. But look at his comments leading up to the Super Bowl last year. As long as he keeps that mind set, I don't care where he wants to go when he leaves.

Im not naive enough to believe that every guy on the Saints roster is where he wants to stay and retire. This is a job for these guys. As long as he gives 100% doing his job, that's all that matters.

Could this be an alternate profile for someone?

Maybe so!

Point? He's 32 and in a division where athleticism is surpassing him at a rapid rate. Browner is gonna get torched sooner than later.

That could very well be true. But he hasn't even played a down for the Saints yet, so your assumption seems somewhat baseless.

    • I'd hold on to Walker - we have no OT depth at all. Freeling is a block of clay - all the tools are there and he appears to have a great attitude. He needs serious work on his technique to realise his potential though.
    • From my watch last night: They weren't trading out of 19 unless it was a daft offer once Freeling got there. They were clearly antsy to get Hunter - and Minnesota actually called to offer the trade down. They weren't trading out of the third round pick once Brazzell fell to it (and Canales would have been happy with him in the second round). They traded back a lot on Day 3 - even if Morgan 'Babe Ruth'd' it with Lee, Hecht and Wheatley; they clearly weren't the only guys they would have taken at those picks. I'm curious to know which player caused the reaction at the start of day 2 (Dan Morgan): "of course they'd pick him"
    • Watching this confirms that this staff and front office is super high on Monroe Freeling. I wouldn't be surprised if he's gotta a real chance to win the starting LT job in camp. If he does, we can look to flip Rasheed Walker to a contender desperate for tackle help.   As for Ickey I still really like him and wanna extend him but based on how the staff was talking about Freeling it might be time for ickey to start taking some practice sets at guard if he wants to stay here as we are gonna have to have figure out a solution for the contracts of Lewis and Hunt.  My preferred scenario for the Oline in 2027 is Freeling-Ickey-Hech-Lewis-Moton.
