Josh Norman fined for his celebration

Mr. Scot

...but we have been lucky thus far that opposing teams have not run back a TD for a score on a kickoff that falls short due to us kicking from the 20 instead of the 35, as we have had to do on at least 2 occasions this season thanks to Mr. Norman.

Josh wasn't penalized vs Houston but don't let facts get in your way...preach on.

He was penalized for taunting in the Jacksonville game and for excessive celebration in the Bucs game.  I'm not sure what Houston has to do with anything.

my bad...not Houston but Jax. He wasn't penalized...he was fined but no flag was thrown.

You're right...my fault.  Not sure why I was thinking a flag was thrown.  Could have been flagged for taunting as well as excessive celebration (for using ball as prop) in that game as well, but neither were called fortunately.

I usually don't argue on these boards, and probably shouldn't have allowed myself to get suckered into this argument.  It is just ridiculous that you cannot make a simple comment such as "Good...I hope he learns his lesson" without someone (not you) being condescending.   I just hate to see stupid penalties that can easily be avoided.  I am sure most fans feel this way.

With that being said...I hope we pay the man as he is one of (if not the) most dominant corners this team has ever had.

    • That's a very incorrect statement right off the bat, coaches get fired for winning ugly all the time.  Every coach of a playoff team that then gets fired, got fired because they won ugly and didn't improve their players enough to win in the postseason. Guys like Andy Reid have been fired for "winning ugly" like you said, because they kept winning in spite of the improvement of their players. Also, "this is a fanbase starved for wins" is a statement I also don't agree with, I'm not "starved for wins", I'm "starved for a winning and contending franchise" which are two VERY different things. If the team and fans just want to win some games, then that's a loser mentality, sorry, but it is.  We should want to contend, not win a handful of games.  Every time this comes up I point back to the Lions the last 5 years or so.  They were losing games but improving every week while doing so a few years back.  THAT is how you improve as a franchise and move the needle towards contending, not winning games ugly.
    • Good lord. I don’t think I have ever seen a hole that open.
    • this is true.  But NFL Ss and defenses are actively taking that away and playing to take them away vs most teams.  The problem thus far in BY's career......is they are cheating and not respecting the deep game which makes the smaller/mid range game harder to pull off.  and Dallas is an anomaly game.  using those random games that run counter to vast work......doesn't really change the discussion/issues in Carolina.  Bryce Young took the shots this week because they were not just NFL open but college open.    Wide open dudes downfield that really were coverage busts/issues.
