Ron Rivera As Candidate For Coach of The Year

Earlier this season it was the Atlanta Falcons coach being given Coach of the Year by the media before the season had even gotten halfway in...well we see how that has turned out..

Now with Carolina being 11-0, Cam being discussed in MVP talks and Josh Norman being discussed as DPOY we have to include Riverboat Ron in the discussion of COY.

We were projected to finish last in the conference and maybe win 2-3 games this season. What this man has done with the Panthers franchise surpasses the current NFL coaches body of work..of course it doesn't help my case that I'm a Panthers fan but even so..the numbers speak for themselves - 11-0

Depending on how other top teams finish, I can see Ron winning it with one loss. Lose 2 of the last 5 and they'll probably try to dig up a better candidate. Considering how we've done vs. most predictions though, he really deserves it even with a couple of losses.

I'm sorry, but who exactly was predicting us to only win 2-3 games this year?  The absolute lowest I remember seeing was 6.

I assume that he meant divisional wins... but even that is a stretch. We were picked to 3-peat the NFC South prior to Kelvin going down.

    • I read the entire article.   Seam routes are great against a single high safety because they have to make a decision.  They can be high risk, high reward play but they are a staple in nearly every NFL game.  Just because they are tight windows doesn't make them hospital balls. The biggest takeaway from that whole article was this is football.  You're going to get hit.  You can get lit up on any play.  QB tries the best he can to judge the distance but the structure of the play is going to get you hit and that safety can run down hill.   Here is one to Sanders, from the same game, who slows down slightly and puts himself in a better position to make the catch without getting lit up.  Hunter ran full tilt and jumped.  No fear running that route which is what Grok recommends.
    • Wanted to give a quick shout out to those of y'all participating in the discussion in good faith. It's been a nice change of pace for some of us fans to combine our knowledge and try to figure things out rather than just looking for a scapegoat to blow off some steam. ♡
    • You don't throw high over the middle, unless your Bryce then it's okay and it's the recievers fault. Plus Sanders is 6'4" 250 and Renfrow is 5'10" 180
