Rivera the Ring leader

Here we are beating the crap out of Atlanta.  An unsportsmanlike penalty against Benwikere (I think) is called.

Rivera has the defense on the sideline chewing their asses.  Discipline.  You see it when he walked away.  TD and Luke both stepped in.

This team is a mirror image of Rivera.  Tough, smart and HIGHLY Disciplined.

It is why our defense works.  It is why everyone knows where they are supposed to be.

Many of us including myself questioned Rivera in his first 2 yrs.  He was maturing into a Head Coach.  Now in his 5th season.  He is the master.

I love him as our head coach and the way he has this team mirrored in his toughness.

Just the fact that he was part of the 85' bears gives him huge amounts of cred. You can see when he fumes after dumb ass penalties, that he is about to explode on the team. When he gets that 'I will kick your ass'  look on the sidelines...time to take cover.

Stupid poo like that can cost you a game.  He holds a tight reign on these guys.  Hard to do when most are millionaires.

I hated the Bears because they were so dominating.  I am happy he brought that with him.

I feel bad that early on I wasn't willing to be patient enough to let Rivera mature into the head coach position and learn all the nuances of being the overall leader of a team.

He needed time to develop the sideline game-management skills, but also time to get the right guys in place, guys who would follow his lead and continue to lead by example.

I apologize, Ron

Many of us were like this.

IMO he truly has turned into one of the best coaches in the league.  We are lucky to have him.

    • Just like WR, you thin it out and then suffer an injury and you are scrambling.  Any RB could have run through some of those those holes though and maybe you don’t get the same xtra yards but you are getting yardage.  It is the pass catching they will miss the most.
    • Without Sanders, they are stil catching balls. Sanders is about a giveaway to it will be a pass play.   Also, hoping we see the competition at RB keep both guys on their toes.
    • I was talking about pre season hype vs now.  They were talking about him being the best route runner on the team and being unguardable.  Putting people in the blender.  He has had 1 catch the last two games, and before that it was 2 per game. I like Renfrow, but it seems him and Bryce are not on the same page.
