I think it is really interesting how this year there are three films with legit chances to win.  Usually you have the favorite and the one dark horse that is more the anti-favorite.

I actually really enjoyed the films this year after not really being impressed with much of anything in '13 and '14.

To me The Revenant was the best but I would not be upset if Spotlight won, both were great.  Mad Max: Fury Road and The Big Short would have been my choices had they come out either of the past two years, but not this one.

Leo needs to win and I would vote for Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies) and Sairose Ronan (Brooklyn) but I am pretty sure Stallone and Larsen win.  No problem with the latter but I am disappointed that Stallone will beat better performances.  He really is fifth best in that category, Steve Carrell should be there in his spot.

The no doubter to me is Emmanuel Lubezki (The Revenant) for Best Cinematography.  That was just brilliant.

Oh yeah, I did see Mad Max....just surprised by that movie altogether, really didn't like it at all.

I remember going to see it, and from start to finish, not realizing exactly what was happening or what I was watching. But I enjoyed it if that makes any sense. As something to watch, I thought it was awesome. As a full blown great movie, mehhhh.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
