I'd love the team to take a chance on either of those guys.  I would REALLY love to see Willie Young on the Panthers.  A rotation of Ealy-Johnson-Young-Addison is exciting.

I like this possibility as well. Played for NC State, wants to play for a 4-3 D, cheap, plus we all know that Chicago is our farm team.

Gettles said in the post draft presser that during the draft other teams called him and offered him a current year pick if he would give up a 2017 pick and he said declined because he didn't want to lose any more picks in next years draft (7th round is already gone). With all the potential free agents after this next season, I doubt he would want to give up another draft pick for a yearly rental. That would scream "win now mode" which he said he does not subscribe to.

I completely agree.

He subscribed to it last year with a much older/past his prime Jared.  He also traded a pick TWO years out for Norwood.  He also said he thinks we'll get a comp pick (3rd rounder) next year, but didn't want to count on it.  Perhaps after May 12,  although there's no way to REALLY know, that will be a little closer to certain.  All things to consider.

Investing a day 3 pick (in 2017 OR BEYOND) and relatively little guaranteed money into much needed OT depth would not necessarily mean sacrificing future for present.  At all.  Just an option/tool on the table that can't be discounted.  One can even argue it'd an investment IN the future by helping protect our investments.

Yet there should be equal quality and cheaper depth available without sacrificing a draft pick.

At OT, considering its premium and dearth of talent league wide, I'm just not so sure.  We'll see though.

    • I'm not sure that in a fair QB competition that Young would beat out Jones.
    • That's why I said stats aside. I lived in CO during Allen's college career and didn't have kids at the time so I watched most of his games. Bruh, I'm telling you. Balls just spraying all over the place. The type of throws where you're honestly trying to figure out who he was even trying to throw that one too. It was crazy. Richardson was inaccurate in college but at least you could tell who he was trying to throw it too. He threw a lot of early in the game Cam Newton type balls where it seemed like he was just a little too amped up and everything was a few feet high. Richardson's misses looked like they were maybe fixable with working on his footwork, release, etc. Josh Allen's misses looked like "ain't no way you're fixin' that poo, dude has a cannon equipped with no sights". LOL Huge props to the Bills for evaluating him as fixable and indeed fixing him.
    • A lot can change over the next week, but here is my best 53-man roster (note: I'm just basing this on guys on the 90 man roster currently). Obviously there could be trades/ waiver claims/ FA signings.   Offense (25) QB (2): Bryce Young, Andy Dalton RB (3): Chuba Hubbard, Rico Dowdle, Trevor Etienne TE (4): Tommy Tremble, JT Sanders, Mitchell Evans, James Mitchell WR (7): Tetoria McMillan, Xavier Legette, Adam Theilen, Jalen Coker, Hunter Renfrow, Jimmy Horn, Brycen Tremayne  OL (9): Ikem Ekwonu, Damien Lewis, Austin Corbett, Robert Hunt, Taylor Moton, Cade Mays, Chandler Zavala, Brady Christensen, Yosh Nijman    Defense (25) DL (6): Derrick Brown, Bobby Brown, Ashawn Robinson, Tershawn Wharton, Sam Roberts, Cam Jackson OLB (5): DJ Wonnum, Pat Jones, Nic Scourton, Princely Umanmielen, Thomas Incoom  ILB (5): Trevin Wallace, Christian Rozeboom, Krys Barnes, Jon Rattigen, Claudin Cherelus S (4): Trevon Moehrig, Demani Richardson, Lathan Ransom, Nick Scott  CB (5): Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson, Chau Smith-Wade, Corey Thornton, Shemar Bartholomew    ST (3): LS: JJ Jansen  P: Sam Martin  K: Matthew Wright    Would like to hear everyone's thoughts
