Cowboys' RB Barber has quad injury

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips indicated Monday that Marion Barber is day to day with his strained quadriceps.

It doesn't sound like a multi-week injury at this point, but Barber seems certain to be limited in practice leading up to a Week 3 matchup against Carolina. Expect Felix Jones to be used more this week even if Barber plays.

not me, this would be a big blow if he cant go. i am worried about jones on KR tho more than being a featured back, then they have Choice to go to.

It looks like we injured another player, Jerry is out for the year for the Falcons!

there's usually a couple of those.

about jones, jerrah loves the kid and is wanting to give him a lot more responsibility. since romo is losing his way early they may be wanting to rely more on felix. he could end up just being like reggie bush (ie, no big deal) but he could also cause huge trouble. i feel ok with the way turner was handled but a lot of that may be due to brokefoot leonard.

    • One thing I didn’t consider is how thin this draft is at quarterback. That’s going to drive up the market for backups and borderline starters like Willis, Jones, and Jameis Winston. Because of that, we’ll most likely be priced out of the market for this tier of backup.
    • We've already beat the #1 seed twice, why not one more? (Packers and Rams were both #1 seed at the time we played)
    • My determination has come down to this. Based on recent QB history, has Bryce's improvement warranted 50m per season? Lamar is the only original team QB to play on his 5th year. The others took major deals at the end of the 3rd, before or just after the option was signed. Chances are, we're getting asked for the same.  I haven't rooted for Bryce to fail. I've rooted for him to succeed so big that them signing that extension would give me no worries about our future at QB at all. We haven't seen that level of play consistently that this year. We haven't seen it in the past 6 games.  We're about to be at a threshold with Bryce and I worry about what this front office will do. We have a history of bad decision making and Morgan has been part of that group making those decisions. I don't want Carolina in the same boat Arizona and Miami are right now. It has nothing to with being right. It has to do with wanting to win for more than a single season. We've never had back to back winning seasons. Faith in their abilities is not warranted at this point.
