Coupe things I see

Why is Bradberry who supposed to have been brought in for his size, getting his hands on the receiver after 5 yards. Soon as the ball hike, he should be jamming

Denver front line can get to the QB, but the Panthers are helping them even more with Cam holding the ball for 4-5 secs. 7th round pick was dumping the ball off to his HB. They took what the defense gave them

Turnovers, like the SB. We turn the ball over on our side of the field. Broncos turned the ball over on their side of the field.

Field position, Ron Rivera has lost the concept of playing field position since our offense became high powered around the middle of last year to this year. Denver scores, you're still up 3 but they have the momentum and they're at home. You're on your side of the field, what you don't want is a turnover mostly in a sack fumble or interception. You signed a punter who can EASILY flip the field. You run on 1st down, pick up 6 yards. Next play you decide to throw it, which if you study the Panthers you'll see they like to throw those slants and Ward sees its, reacts and causes a turnover on our side of the field

1. You run 3 straight times, get stuffed and rely on the punter you just fuging signed to do his job. Boom that poo. Force Denver O to drive the field and score

2. If you do decide to throw it, why not take a shot deep? The worst that can happen is your throw an INT, but atleast it'll be on the Broncos side of the field. The best that can happen? You catch it and flip the field OR you get a pass interference.

That's just critical football thinking. I dont know what Ron and Shula together be thinking. Ron mentioned plenty of times he likes to let his coaches do them and just pinch in every now and then I believe it more and more. Cause a lot of decisions made aren't Ron like and watching him on the sideline, it doesn't look like he's engaged at all. Just watching

Pretty much what was going through my mind after watching again. The playing calling in the 4th quarter was questionable to say the least. Also wtf was Ron thinking when he called a timeout only to challenge the play? Terrible coaching decision that really came back to bite us in the ass.

After re-watching, I also noticed clock management played a HUGE roll. Whomever is working uptop needs to do a better job getting plays in and reviewing.

Once again we beat ourselves.

Impressed by....

Fozzy:  I guess I see what the coaching staff does.

Stew: Love the way he runs.

1st half Oline

Cam: VERY good first half, and showed the world his toughness.

KB

Lee: Well worth a fourth rounder.

Mcclain & Bene: (not considering the fullback touchdown whiff)...Imo this should be our starters.

Depressed by...

Run D and Pass Rush:  We need to find a solution ASAP.

Bradberry: Looked ok but lacks awareness... he's a rookie so he gets a pass. No excuse for missing tackles though.

Boston: See above ...minus being a rookie. Although, I like his speed he can't tackle. He shouldn't be a starter...solid backup perhaps but starter .. no bueno

Coleman: Since changing positions he's probably missed more tackles in preseason and week one then all of last year. Put this man at SS and let Cash be the free.

Ginn: As a career returner, his performance Thursday night was odd. His protection wasn't the best either.

Tolbert: I expect more from the bowling ball.

Oline 4th quarter: Fatigue and Altitude I'm guessing.

Refs: RTP, Facemasks, Holding, Offensive PI... all game, few calls. In our favor that is.

This game is hard to really pick apart since the qb was new (lack of film) which slowed our D somewhat. Eventhough we lost, the bigger picture is, it was self inflicted. Offense got better ...Defense got worse. I don't see anything "alarming", just a couple of tweaks and we should be fine. That being said, the 49ers should be scared.
