wasn't the final game haha, honestly was surprised to be in that position with a rookie manager and all of the injuries we've had this year. No doubt Roberts is manager of the year. Can't wait for next season!

Dave did pretty well with what he had, but what really helped was the epic and historic collapse by the Giants in the middle of year from best to worst second half record.   If the Giants figure out that bullpen they'll be back at the top as the clear best team in that division.

Negative. Giants talent is aging and overrated. They need starting pitching as well as bullpen help. We'll see how Free Agency shakes out and all those young arms the Dodgers used this year will be even better next. Dodgers are favored to repeat.

I'd take Bum and Cueto over Kershaw and old Rich Hill any day though.  Giants have a better lineup overall.  They can hit left handed pitchers too.   Their defense is light years better as well.  Urias will eventually start getting called for balks probably but he has a future.   Your bullpen is bad too besides Jansen.   I'm not saying Dodgers can't win that division again, but I don't think they are clearly the better team.  Giants DID have an epic fall and were dominating before.

How are they aging? lol.  Posey is 29, Belt 28, Crawford 29, Panik 25.   Pence is 33 but not a huge deal and the outfield is older but the infield is going to be great for years.  They'll upgrade this offseason too.

However, Dodgers are old.  A-Gone is 34, Turner is 31, Utley 37, etc.   Pederson and Seager are the only bright spots really and Puig is well, Puig.   Not exactly a clear favorite.   No doubt both teams will upgrade though, and maybe Dodgers find people that can hit lefties.

gonna have to go with Francona and the Indians over Epstein even though I'd love Lester to get another ring.

On paper and all stats, Cubs should win, but anything can happen.  Indians starters are full of right handed hitters and that bodes well for the Cubs, even better that Schwarber can play DH in the series and feasts on righties.   They handled the Blue Jays power lineup though, which is something, but the Cubs can nickle and dime you and win without the long ball if they have to.    It's going to be a good series and fun because two new teams are in it.   Sucks Joe Buck is announcing though.

on paper the Sox should have beaten the Indians but we all saw how that series played out. I'm not sure how effective Schwarber is gonna be after being out for so long. The Indians are gonna run on the Cubs, especially on Lester, and they remind me of the Royals with how they can beat you with smallball. This was the WS I wanted to see after the Sox got eliminated so I'll be happy with the result either way.

    • It should be a facto, because while he needs to perform to keep his job, you still have to build with an eye to the future. Where we will be drafting, there is a more than good chance of there being a player there at a position of more need, such as OT, LB, TE, S, or CB. With all those holes, I just don’t like the idea of taking a player who will ensure one of him, T-Mac, or Coker won’t be here 4 years from now, and we all know it won’t be T-Mac who gets jettisoned. So either believe in Coker or don’t, keep him and draft another position or draft a WR and trade him, don’t straddle the middle and hamstring us by leaving more holes while leaving us a huge problem a couple years from now.
    • Oh, now we are "top half?" Keep moving the goal posts. No we aren't. We don't have a surefire WR2, nor do we have a TE that we can count on to consistently make big plays. Our receiving corps is somewhat bland to be honest. It does not have enough juice. Add another playmaker, then we'll likely be top half. Our receiving corps ranked somewhere between 20 and 25 in the league depending upon who you look at. No one has us in the top half based upon last season.
    • It is hard to say--if you look back at our roster from 4 years ago...In addition, we have a ton of money going into our OL right now (which might strengthen the argument to draft a tackle now)  The average NFL career is under 4 years, but the average NFL career for first rounders is 9.3 years, so most get 2 contracts.   So having said that, I look at it as capital--if your concern (legit) becomes an issue, then you should have the same vision and trade that player and draft his replacement.  However, TMAC, Coker, and a rookie is not likely to be a problem for another 4 years--2030.   But to your point, we have a situation right now that the OL has 2 guards and a RT around or over 30.  The make about $70m per year.   I like the perspective of reality you bring, however.  Is that a factor to morgan in 2026?
