I don't know, I kind of don't like how the organization is shielding Cam from the media. They know he is gong to get asked again and again about "Tiegate". Best way to handle that is confronting it and answering the media's stupid questions.

Well this is Ron's doing as far as tie gate is concerned. Ron hung him out to dry to the media so Ron should make it go away. I'm sure there's good reason as to why he didn't speak today but still. Ron created his shitstorm and he should fix it. This was very badly handled. For an organization that doesn't air their dirty laundry, Ron sure pulled the trump card on this one.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera apparently wasn't happy with the continued talk about his decision to bench NFL MVP Cam Newton for the opening series of Sunday's loss for not wearing a tie on the Saturday flight to Seattle. Here's how he opened Wednesday's press conference in a rather terse tone: "Apparently, doing what you're supposed to do doesn't seem to explain the situation, set of circumstances. So I'm going to address this one last time. OK? Again, I made a decision based on rules. Treat everybody the same. The reason you do it, especially when you're having a tough season, is because if you don't, chaos, it can consume your football team. The idea was to do the right thing treat everybody the same. I've done it before where I've had to treat people the same, and that's all I've done. That's the end of it. Please, as a football team, we would like to move forward and start focusing on the San Diego Chargers. So I'm going to ask you not to start asking questions [about it]. I'm going to talk about the Chargers, I'm going to talk about our football team going forward. Thank you.''

LOL so you create a mess but get mad when people question that mess or blatantly call that mess stupid? Ron is on this downward spiral lol. No matter how you slice the pie Ron, the punishment didn't fit the crime then you opened the door for this.

Exactly

What the hell is the matter with Ron? If anybody should NOT talk to the media it's Ron. He should have pulled a Cam Newton and took on the fine

Somebody need to silence David Gettleman too. He says poo out his mouth that backfires too

Here's my problem:

Ron did this as a "teach you a lesson" punishment and made it known to the media. But instead of people coming down on Cam for violating the very important rule of wearing a tie, they came down on Ron for the excessive punishment for a trivial problem. This backfired in so many ways and now he's pissed off and doesn't want to talk about it. Youre right; he doesn't need to talk to the media. Does he not know the question will come up again lol.
