The most I can imagine Berry looking for is in that range. Earl Thomas makes $10M and McCourty makes $9.5M.

Signing Berry <> signing Short. Heck, for the difference in Berry and Short in years 1-3, you could pay for Short's 2017 tag. I'm not saying who I want more, but that the $$$ isn't close. I also don't think Berry walks from KC, but who knows.

Hell no we won't. Did we ever go after Eric Weddle? 

These guys are somewhat similar in their ability to lead ON the field and have game changing plays.

Erics story no doubt fits the Keep Pounding theme but I don't see us paying anyone with a name some money.

Berry saying he won't play under the tag deal doesn't mean the Chiefs won't find a way to slap it on him. It's part of the leverage the teams have through the CBA and the only way they can guarantee compensation beyond comp picks.
