Being Positively Blah

I'm going to pose a simple question: Pending a win tonight...can we make it through this entire season with Fox, Hurney, & Delhomme and still feel good about our team at the end?

I really think so.

I'm not currently a supporter of any of the three fellows I mentioned, but I am looking at our current situtation as this:

If our running game picks up soon, we are fully capable of going to the playoffs. Simple. And this is regardless of how Jake performs and as long as our defense can be mediocre. Look at the second half of last year. We had basically the same team and a similar situation. Jake had horrible horrible games against the likes of the Raiders and Buccaneers and our defense gave up a ridiculous amount of points yet we still managed to finish 12-4. I believe if Delhomme can drag on as last years self to the end of this year, we can still finish well...and we can still get rid of him (Along with Fox & Co.). He may have around 20 interceptions, 15-20 TDs and we may not in fact fall off the face of the earth. Our team will still have two awesome running backs, great linebackers, solid starting o-linemen, and good TEs at the end of this season. We have some to dispose of but we don't have to blow up our team to bits and start from square one even if we do get a new coach and QB. Teams like the Jets, Bears, and 49ers are showing me that we have the potential to get it going quicker than it seems.

I'm just trying to get a positive mindset thats not a homer and at the same time not a negative prick. When thinking this way: My expectations are still very low, but I still see playoff possibility. Basically, just stop freaking out people. :seeya:

So, let's start by beating the living crap out of the Cowgirls in an bit. Cheers.

    • XL I dont even think he gets a full season. He's almost in a moment to moment tryout, post training camp. If he does his 'jumping out of bounds' catch again, I think the team calls him an Uber.
    • Kudos to the Knicks and their diehard, true fans. Like the Hornets, it wasn’t long ago that they were considered the laughing stock of the league with a trash owner (I guess Dolan has gotten a little better).    Loved seeing the energy in MSG.
    • Yeah one big factor has been he is surprisingly quite durable. But the reality of that aspect is much of it boils down to plain dumb luck more often than not. Big guys get hurt smaller guys get hurt it happens across the league to anyone to varying degrees. The issue is we are staring down the barrel of a possible top 10 QB salary and Bryce Young is one of the least physically gifted starters in the league. That is not a shot at him it is simply a rational acknowledgment of circumstances. There is a legitimate question to be asked if his window as a starter in this league is smaller as a result because what is going to happen when those hits that he has previously popped right back up from with a smile on his face begin to accumulate as they do for every player that has been in this league? These are just things to consider.
