I see what your saying and I hope that's not the case. I personally don't see KB as a player that's going to lead the league in catches or yards. I see him not as the stereotypical receiver but as a player that can be known as the one who makes the really tough, clutch catches. The dangerous red zone target that a defense has to key on but will still be deficult to stop. The guy that makes the hard fought 1st down catch on 3rd and long when we really need it late in the game. Dependable.

I believe he has the potential to be that guy. I hope at least.

In due time, we may be talking about Funchess as our number 1 and KB as our solid monstrous #2.

Seems like a far off dream, but Funchess has that potential to be a dominant, smooth #1. Whether he translates that in game remains to be seen. But his upside is more than KBs, and I think time will tell Funchess' true strength.

Could be. Hope to be.

I see the big time potential in both. In my opinion-The biggest obstical I see (not only with them but in many young players) is their self confidence. Taking it from "flashing" to "breaking out" or "to the next level" is an imaginary obstacle that stands in the way of a lot of players with potential. To get over the hump, it can take a play, a game or a season to get their mind right with the confidence that they can perform at another level.

KB and Funch have good coaching and all the skills necessary to be the guy, but in the end, they are human too. Most won't admit but the majority of people perform in a "fake it till you make it" environment so to speak.

Lack of confidence or conversely, proving to yourself you can do it, is not only important to the average Joe like you and I but to them as well.

Some guys get over the hump and exceed their own expectations enough to where it becomes standard practice. Others never quite get that bit of confidence or courage to take it one step above their self imposed ceiling.

Im optimistic so I think these two guys can break through. We will certainly have a good read on their direction this season.

PS- Did I use enough quotations?

    • I agree with OP notion, QBs always get credited for game winning drives even if they do minimal. Just last night Caleb got credited for a GE drive when they basically ran the ball the whole drive and only had to go 36 yards.   And there are drives where Bryce could of had a game winning drive if not for a Legette drop vs Philly or a Chubba fumble vs Tampa
    • You are actually, genuinely comparing Bryce to Jimmy fuging Pickles? Jimmy accounted for 3 touchdowns in his 10 starts in 2010. In Bryce’s 10 games post benching last year, he accounted for 20 touchdowns. Jimmy threw three touchdowns in 2010. Three. Bryce has thrown 10 touchdowns through 6 games. He is currently on track to throw for 3300 yards, 28 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Wtf are we even talking about anymore. I mean seriously
    • Tepper? The guy that directs the coaches towards goals that he set for them… that guy. He is the one.    I don’t think he ever was going to be expelled from class, they had him come in for garbage time maybe the 2nd week he was benched.  I will say this. People said he wasn’t under pressure the last part of the year when he did better, but he was fighting for his career and that’s pressure. And he saved his career too. I don’t reject him for those kinds of things I reject him for the physical things. I have always brought it down to he has slim margin for error and has to be perfect. People with the tool set have a little fatter margin for error. Why make it harder on yourself? Got nothing to do with hating him.  I am no statistician but game that margin thing out a lot and see how that works.
