Honestly, I don't see why they need to bench Delhomme right now anyway. As far as I'm concerned, he had 1 turnover in that Dallas game that was all his fault, the one to Moose. On the other two, Smitty ran the wrong route on the worst one, and he just got sacke in about 2 1/2 seconds on the fumble and had no chance. That one had no effect on the outcome of the game anyway.

Personally, I think the guy they missed the most on offense was Brad Hoover. That running game is just not the same without him, and the play calling wasn't that great either.

saw this on ESPN and it just makes me sick that they don't even put any question out there to make jake think he needs to step his play up. Him and fox will be perfect for the ufl or whatever that joke of a league is called. I hope delhomme retires this year or gets knocked out by an opposing D and makes us change our QB.

Jake's past four games:

3 touchdown passes, 15 turnovers

Read that stat again. And then again. And then one more time.

Jake needs to be benched permanently.

That's funny, the last time I tried to use stats to defend Delhomme, I was told that they don't count.

The bottom line, is that more than one player had a major hand in producing those stats. Even the very first INT Jake threw in the very first game this year was tipped at the line, which is why it was behind Smitty and got intercepted. The point is that the O-line has been a problem and so has Jake's receivers.

Either way, Jake wasn't even close to being the main problem in the Dallas game or the Atlanta game. Stevie Wonder can see that.

Fox is committed this week....if this same team shows back up in BOA after the bye....the fans reaction from then on will look as if Carr was the most beloved Panther of all time.

I agree. I am almost dread attending this game in person. If the Redskins light us up and we turn the ball over a bunch of times, it will get VERY ugly.

How about lets' fix the freakin running game, which is the heart and soul of the Panthers offense, before we change QB's. Jake has not been the biggest problem in the last two games, not by a longshot.

While I agree, I don't like that the Panthers have this "who can suck the worst" mentality from week to week. As a fan it gets frustrating with the talent we have. :banghead:

    • Was just reading the Ask the Old Guy story on the team's website and was shocked to see that only two 2nd Rounders have signed so far, 30 of them haven't. That isn't normal, the Texans really screwed things up for the rest of the league, no other explanation that I can think of for 30 of the 32 picks to still be unsigned at this point.
    • They need to address CB before season starts. This is not going to cut it.
    • Except it wouldn't be Rodgers leading them on a postseason run, it would be the defense and he's there to not screw up their great games. Which is why..... This times a million. I didn't watch a ton of the Jets last year, but from what I did see, Rodgers himself didn't look like a bum, the team just struggled and was more than likely due to poor coaching on the whole.  The Steelers don't need MVP level Rodgers to win games, they just need him to be good enough to make some plays when it matters because the defense is keeping them in games every week regardless. In their 7 losses last season, the Steelers scored 10, 13, 17, 17, 17, 19, and 24... while giving up 19, 20, 24, 27, 27, 29, and 34 in those games.  With only marginally better offense last year, they probably end up winning a few more games too. They only scored over 27 points in 3 games last season. I think this is a great move by the Steelers and if Rodgers can stay healthy all year, will get them back into the playoffs and could make some noise if their defense is up to the normal level of a Steelers defense.
