What a mess of a airport. Whose bright idea was it to put a taxi stand right in the middle of passenger pickup.  It needs to be either on the outside with the buses or at the very beginning.  

Had my ride pick me up on the upper deck at departures.

PTI is the same way, but less traffic. 

But to be honest, you probably had a stupid driver.

I fly into Charlotte every other month. It was a family member that picks me up regularly.   We decided to use the departures area because traffic was so bad for arrivals.  

Taxi drivers was getting preferential treatment and blocking lanes.

Its temporary while there's construction. They have done decent traffic directors under there and its flowing better than it has.

I picked up someone in a snow storm a few years back (there flight was cancelled ) got yelled out for "blocking the cab lane" when there wasn't a cab in sight. Had to circle the airport again in the snow as they were walking out the  double doors under the threat of and I quote "calling the police and having me arrested "
