2018 DL

Interior looks to be set.  Hopefully we can resign Star, his presence at NT taking double teams and penetration in run defense is huge.

On the edge Pep and CJ are old, Addison is just starting to come on, and Hall is a project.

Interior guys

Christian Wilkins- athletic 3-tech.  Should put up real big #s playing beside Lawerence who may be the top interior DL this year. Has had 17.5 TFL and 5.5 sacks over his first 2 seasons, should be set to explode this year.

Vita Vea- Elijaj Qualls came out this year and fell to the 6th round.  Reports out of eagles camp is he is turning heads and very hard to handle.  Vea was said to be the better of the 2.  Washington has produced some very solid defnesive talent as of late.  Washington staff says Vea has better upside than Danny Shelton who was a first rounder in 2015.

Derrick Nnadi- started off slow last year but ended the year strong with 5.5 sacks.  Reminds of Timmy Jernigan who came out of FSU a few years back.

Lowell Lotulelei- much like his brother, strong NT but struggles as a pass rusher.

Da'ron Payne- said to be the next big Alabama DL prospect.

Edge

Arden Key-  6'6 250.  Projected top 5.  Dangerous pass rusher on the edge. Played at 238 but bulked up to 250 this year.  May be a better fit as a 3-4 OLB.

Harold Landry- 6'3 250.  Projected late 1st this past year but came back.  3-4 OLB fit  one of the best pass rushers out there, recording 16.5 sacks 22 TFL  and 7 forced fumbles in 2016. Next big prospect to come out of BC since Luke.

Josh Sweat- absolute Freak.  Top recruit out of high school who athletic ability gave him comparisions to Clowney.  Had a major injury towards the end of his HS senior which slowed him comkng into his true freshman year.  More of a 4-3 DE but playing the 3-4 end at FSU.  Overshadowed but Demarcus Walker his Sophomore year.  His time to shine this year and could explode.

Sam Hubbard- playing on a talented DL for Ohio State, the senior could go off this year.

Bradley Chubb- solod size and speed.  Had a junior year, see if he can continue it to a strong senior finale.

Dahawn Hand- big time prospect coming out of high school (a lot had ranked above Fournette for #1)  great athlete that has played behind Jonathon Allen and hasnt flashed when he gets pt.

Marquis Haynes- best fit for 3-4 OLB.  Another freak athletel the kid is long and a absolute speed demond coming off the edge.

Duke Ejifor- good athlete.  Quietly put up a good season at wake with 10.5 sacks

Tyquan Lewis- the other ohio state DE, has been a solid starter his whole time there.  Started on ther other side of Bosa and led them in sacks. Could be the better of the 2 between him and Hubbard.

Clelin Ferrell- had a big redshirt Freshman year in 2016 with 12.5 sacks.  Playing beside the DTs Clemson has and some experince under his belt.  He could blow up and rise very fast.

Not overly impressed.  Finding a 4-3 fit that can get after the freakin QB and is worth a chit, that'll actually be available at 32, is hard.  At least it's early and things can change.

Sweat and the ohio state kids might.

Ohio state kids arent super hyped like Bosa but still real solid and should be around then.  Depth at some of the other postitions such as OT (especially following this Horrid OT class of 2017) should push them down the board..

Sweat is another interesting one.  Dude was a freak like i mentioned they compared him to clowney coming out of high school prior to the knee injury.  Seems like it takes a few seasons for a kid to develop into a hands down DE.  Sweat is going to have a Whole lot of work with the hands down.  They play him at 3-4 DE where Demarcus Walker was.  He is going to be in the exact role Clowney is in at Houston right now.  He should have a leg up coming right into a 4-3 DE role.  He should be around late to imo unless he just blows the season up this year.

Even the Clemson Kid.  Looking at his measurables and play last year i think he could be better fot at 4-3 than Dodd or Lawson was.  He had a big year last year as a redshirt frosh but was really overshadowed.
