Not a single highlight or mention all day on SC

I know we are a small market and were 0-3 and playing a equally dismal Redskin team. However, the only mention of the game at all today on SportsCenter was the Zorn and Fox are on hot seat. They did say Panthers won, but didn't even state the score. There was no discussion of Hoover actually scoring, the punt situation, or "Wheels" Delhomme game winning naked bootleg. I was just curious if anyone else had noticed this. Of course it's only a 30 minute show that is repeated ad nauseum and most of that is taken up by Burman suckling the Broncos, but damn you could have given us a 30 sec highlight at least.

Edit: Burman has continued his man crush of the Broncs during MNF halftime.

A guy who works for me got to work and asked me did we win last season.I left cause we were kinda slow,I came home at *am and they should our game highlights one time from then to noon.I sent ugly emails, called colin cowherd and talked poo,and he said all teams had the same coverage.I called sirius radio and told them what happened and they said that was normal for us and about 5 other teams

Hell, the year the Hurricanes won the cup, you would have been hard pressed to proove they were even in the playoffs if all you did was read the national press.

There is no team in Carolina that gets notice no matter what they do, unless those teams are named UNC and Duke and the ball is round and orange.

Exactly. It's ridiculous. Hell, sometimes even UNC doesn't get the recognition because it's been in the spotlight so many times.

It's alright though; I'm used to it and I'm probably biased in my views anyway (as in, I feel that NC is overlooked and I'm probably biased in regards to that). There are a lot of great things about the Carolinas and it often goes past the rest of the country, and I'm talking outside of sports (one of the biggest states, Charlotte and banking, fast growing state, etc.).

Unremarkable game with very few flashy big plays. Mostly mistakes on the highlight reel. Biggest storyline in my book was 17-2, with 10 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter, facing 0-4 at home and the Panthers ended up winning the game. No way they were going to set up and feature that.

I was telling my friend that this morning... I was pissed. I actually stayed up late and watched SC about 2 different times just trying to make sure I didn't miss Berman and Jackson talking about our highlight... I couldn't believe it. We weren't mentioned all night. Not once. Not one highlight.

I don't care what anyone says. We aren't the biggest market, but we're far from a small market. We're top half of the league... No excuse. They should've at least shown the punt play and Jake's run. On top of that, we scored 18 unanswered points to come back and win. Ugly records and mediocre teams or not, it should've gotten some mention.

You make a great point. It's typical that Carolina gets shafted; they just didn't want to get out of form showing anything about Carolina.

Yeah, exactly. Both of those aspects (unanswered points, biggest deficit given up by Washington, etc. and the punt) are the biggest reasons to show anything about the game.

Also, the Panthers are one of the biggest Franchises in football, actually. Google "how much nfl team worth" to get some figures.

    • He can’t even learn to run routes. No chance in hell he can do both that and pick up blocking schemes
    • Well he had essentially a 70% completion rate for almost three thousand yards.  Biggest issues were awkward and inconsistent release.  I wouldn't call arm strength bad, but not great.
    • I see him being better and most of that is a few downfield passes that were seemingly non existent.    But it is what is around him that has dictated the trajectory more than the quarterbacking. He is game manager level and unable to dictate to defenses.  And even if I am wrong and he is the reason we ‘upwarded’, we are bumping our heads on the ceiling and only making meager gains. If it is an incline it is awfully shallow degree wise. Like a finance graph that tracks your progress and hovers around the rate of inflation. Barely breaking even.  Is that where you want your money?  We make up these deadlines expectations and generally he does the minimum of what he needs to do to hang around.    It does not encourage me to believe that when we get into a game against a good run d that we cannot break down with our run game, to believe that we can pivot to the air and successfully counter their strategy.  But they run it back again. Of course I am gunshy of a repeat of the same thing we have watched for three years.    oh, and yes his durability is his most impressive positive for my money. I fear the other shoe dropping on that and the contractual consequences that will follow.   Last  of all, too late to edit my mistake here but would like to acknowledge it: the last three years has done very little to convince me that I was not wrong in not wanting him. One too many “not”s.
