Brad Evans gets potshots in at Jake (RE: D. Will's decrease in production)

I am not going to discuss the merits of his analysis (LINK) which seem basically right, but two statements are kind of amusing:

1."For the alleged matchup-proof rusher, the start to his '09 campaign wasn't supposed to be this way. As we discussed in August, the Panthers' entire offense from last year remained intact. His schedule did appear daunting, but based on his dismantling of quality defenses late last year (i.e. the New York Giants), he was expected to be invincible. Not even Jake Delhomme's perpetual suckage would be his kryptonite."

2.In recent years, Carolina has used the run to set up the pass. But this season that offensive philosophy has flipped. The Panthers are throwing more and running less, evident in Williams' decrease in carries ('08: 17.1 att/g, '09: 14.8). In some circumstances, this would be a positive shift, but considering Delhomme would have difficulties accurately distributing the ball to King Kong, it has affected the team negatively.

One thing that I don't think that he has taken into consideration is that a couple of the games have kind of been skewed, and we HAD to pass more because we were down (of course it's arguable that it came down to Jake's ineffectiveness). Furthermore, he didn't mention that Williams had similar numbers at this time last year.

The barbs were funny to me though.

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
