Luxury Hong Kong apartment sells for whopping $57 million amid talk of property bubble

HONG KONG (AP) -- It's a price tag that would make even New Yorkers and Londoners gasp -- an outsized luxury apartment sold for nearly $57 million in Hong Kong Wednesday amid growing fears of a real estate bubble.

The five-bedroom duplex suite with as much as 6,158 square feet was sold to an unidentified buyer from mainland China, said the developer, Henderson Land Development, a major Hong Kong property company. It is believed to be Asia's most expensive property by square foot at nearly $9,200.

Aside from an aroma spa center, fitness room, outdoor yoga gym and grand harbor views, the new homeowner will enjoy an exclusive address in the hills of Hong Kong's main island -- "a majestic realm for the city who's who," according to a statement from the developer.

The deal comes at a time when ever-higher prices of Hong Kong real estate, benefiting from mainland China's booming market and easy money sloshing through the world financial system, are inspiring worries of a bubble in the making. Several blockbuster deals in the tens of millions of dollars have made headlines of late

      fuging awesome win all around, loved nearly everything I saw. Of course the Nets suck and we’ve won our opener like 10 straight season lol so it doesn’t mean much but better than losing or having certain young players look terrible.   Hopefully we can stay healthy can keep building.   Also, for at least a couple days, all 3 Carolina pro sports teams have winning records… When was the last time that happened? I think last time both Charlotte teams had winning records was 2018 but Canes I think were below .500 then

      Me either. I actually thinks it's the worst thing that could have happened. The last thing we need right now is Bryce out for any length of time. We need him to play for the FO to decide, correctly or not, if he is the future of this team.

      The game thread is stream of consciousness. I may or may not have made a tasteless remark I don’t recall.    I know that my reaction was mixed, , not sure if I thought it was a positive or a negative in terms of.the game.    What I do know is we don’t need him hurt in the middle of a year where the jury is looking to come in on his future. fug that we need him playing and healthy so it is a fair game evaluation wise.    That is absolutely the most important thing in my mind by a large margin. I am not happy he is hurt, at all.
