I'm going to just sit back and watch the riot in here if we draft a cb in the first. If we swing out on a POTENTIAL cut( Talib/Norman) and a better corner falls in the first it should definitely be in play.

People will be pissed but gotta understand Dave's draft picks are kinda on the chopping block and Hurney has no ties to them if a better player is available.

Gawd what id do to draft Josh Jackson in the first.  Id Love to draft him (a CB) in the first.  Im taking him over Ridley, Davenport etc

Jackson may not be out of the question at #24. He has looked borderline terrible in the on field drills.

His backpedal and transition has been stiff and choppy. He just hasn’t looked comfortable doing any of the drills backpedaling. His hands and speed does look too notch. Denzel Ward and Mike Hughes are clearly the top two CB’s in the draft.

What Jackson does better than anyone else (and just so happens to be what we lack big time at CB) is making plays on the football. Not only do our CBs struggle in coverage but they practically never create turnovers. But, I guess if you're not close enough to cover a guy you're probably not gonna get an INT unless it's just an awful through. Oh wee mayne.

I completely agree. We didn’t have a CB get a turnover until week 13 against the Vikings when our playoff hopes was on the line. The defensive front 7 is great. We have to start adding Safeties and Corners who can take the ball away and shutdown receivers. The defensive line is creating too much havoc and the secondary just won’t hold up enough.

One thing that might make him drop is he's solely a zone read and react corner with his instinct. Any other scheme and he'll get killed.

That's one big question mark for us as fans right now. We honestly don't know what our secondary philosophy is going to be under Washington. We were almost exclusively a cover three zone team under McDermott then under Wilks we put a lot more pressure on the CBs with a very heavy blitz scheme. Not gonna lie, sometimes the coverage was just so damn bad that I couldn't even tell what we were attempting to run.

Ding ding ding.

He is a josh Norman clone.  He is a zone corner.  If you watch his film you see JNo.

He has great awareness in the zone coverage, reads the qb better than most, and has great instincts.   Also a damn good tackler who will knock the ball out.

People forget his teammate King last year. Really fell after a poor combine, and he ended up as one of the top overall rookies this year.

He's a lot better athlete than Norman though. Not saying he'll be as good of an NFL CB as Norman, but as a pure athlete he's significantly better.

This!

I beat on that dead horse all year.

Everyone wanted to point why we were struggling.

That was it.  The tunrovers our DBs compared from this past year to 2015 was a Wiiiiiiiiide margin.

Our offense looked unstoppable in 2015 and a lot of that stemmed from turnover caused by the D setting up a short field.  And when you put up points fast from that, it forces the other team to change their offense passing more, letting the D pin back and pressure. This past year not at all.
