Quick question?

Do people think we can draft a team that can get in shootouts with our division opponents?

Seriously are we closer to having a team that can outscore top offenses or stop them??

I think with a better secondary paring with our front 7.. We are closer to  stopping them.. We need a lot more for Cam to match fire power even with the teams in our division.. jmo

I think we have a team capable of scoring every time we get the ball.  That's all you need to be in a shootout.

With that said, to help our defense, our offense typically holds the ball for as long as possible, letting the play clock run down on every play.  We also tend to try and grind it out, going for 4-5 yards per play instead of first downs.  So that style doesn't support quick strikes.  But it doesn't mean we can't score when we really need to.

I'm tired of depending on defense to win the game. Panthers have been doing that for 23 years now and where has it got us, NOWHERE. We need a offensive minded coach tired of getting a little lead and saying oh let's just win with defense. Where has that got us we when some, we lose some never consistent. Until we decide to score a bunch of points and not depend on defense we are going to be mediocre. That's why we have all these seasons without back to back winning seasons. You know what makes Belichick he doesn't care how many points they drop on the other team, and he has balls like a real coach should and that's why has 6 rings. Defense does not when championships anymore in this league. Look at the last two super bowls both teams scored 28 points or more. We need offense, not defense unless you want to keep having these off and on seasons.

    • Good, our ST is almost as bad as our ILB depth!
    • With two starters on expiring contracts (Moton + Corbett) as well as a few back-ups (Christensen, Mays, and Nijman), the Panthers are likely going to have to reinvest in the OL after this coming season. Icky's fifth-year option was picked up by the team this offseason while Lewis and Hunt both remain under contract then (though Lewis' deal is set-up in a way that would let Carolina move on from him then as well). I think that the team is going to be looking at investing a premium pick at RT should Bryce's development continue, and might even look to double dip at the position in order to have a swing tackle that can also kick inside when needed. There's also the question of starting center... Prospects I'm watching this upcoming college season... Centers Jake Slaughter (Florida) Iapani Laloulu (Oregon) Connor Lew (Auburn) Logan Jones (Iowa) Parker Brailsford (Alabama) Connor Tollison (Missouri) Bryce Foster (Kentucky) Pat Coogan Notre Dame) Raheem Anderson (Michigan) Carson Hinzman (Ohio State) RTs Francis Mauigoa (Miami) Kadyn Proctor (Alabama) Spencer Fano (Utah) Gennings Dunker (Iowa) Blake Miller (Clemson) Isaiah World (Oregon) Caleb Tiernan (Northwestern) Monroe Feeling (Georgia) Earnest Greene III (Georgia) Monroe Mills (Louisville) Charles Jagusah (Notre Dame) Tree Babalade (South Carolina) Trey Zuhn III (Texas A&M) Nolan Rucci (Penn State) Tristan Leigh (Clemson) Fernando Carmona (Arkansas) JC Davis (Illinois) Riley Mahlman (Wisconsin) PJ Williams (SMU) Tosh Baker (Notre Dame) Aki Ogunbiyi (Texas A&M) Courtland Ford (Kentucky) Ethan Onianwa (Rice)
    • I watched documentary on the 2010 Auburn season and Cam wasn’t included in that either. I think he just doesn’t care for these things
