I don't understand why ever sees Hall as a lock for this roster.  Cox outplayed him last year in the preseason, he went on IR with a bobo on his finger, it cost us nothing to cut him, and he was drafted by the prior GM not the current one.  If he looks good in preseason then yes they will keep him.  But he did not last year and unless he improves alot he could very well be gone.

I'm a firm believer in actually giving young guys playing time to see what you really have in them.....I'll withhold judgment until the guy is actually on the field for some regular season games.  People give up on players too quickly these days...

Efe Obada my dark horse pick to make it.

I have spoken with many former players who work for a company that helps prepare NFL prospects.  I have heard from more than one source that Efe Obada was the most physically talented DE to ever take their program.

Go back and check the kids measurables. Better than any DE in this draft class.

His bend also is ridiculous.

Dallas had a great article on him a couple years back. Obada is a greenie but his whole life since being introduced to football has been learning the game. I bet Washington has help mold him to a potential complete DE.

He has the body that can maintain speed and grow. I am not saying JP size but he could easily hit 275 and still be just as explosive.

The huddle were mostly not impressed with his preseason due to the lack of snaps and level of competition, I saw a future gamechanger. His off the snap speed and closing speed was TD speed.

10 yard split: 1.53s (Elite burst right there)

40 yard dash: 4.63s (no QB is out running him)

Arm Length: 35.6” :Eyes_Emoji_42x42:

Height: 6-6

Weight: 255lbs

I think he's part of the International program again this year, so he will not be eligible for the regular season active roster.

I think so but I can see the Pnthers signing him. He is under a future/reserve contract.

To be honest, I don't know how this international thing works.  I know European players are assigned to NFL teams, and that once the season starts, they cannot be activated to the regular roster.  But I don't know if the team can sign them to an actual contract before the regular season starts or not.

Maybe it doesn't matter.  It could actually be good for us if the team sees potential, but doesn't think he's ready.  It buys us time to let him develop without the risk of exposing him to waivers in order to get him on the practice squad.

Damn, how? That's impressive praise because I read that he never played football  in America before.

Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough.  I had said, check the kids measurables.  Things like arm length, 40 yard dash, vertical, etc.   Usually someone's measurables aren't exactly related to playing experience.

He has those long arms that can make hard for oline to get hold of him with a burst of greyhound to blow by oline. Washington is prob overjoyed that we signed him again. I see future Cameron Wake "potentially" in a sense.

As a situational speed rusher, I actually really like this pick. I'd like to think the plan is to have him on either side of Addison, or Pep in Over & Under fronts as the 5th rusher limiting the chance of a double team on either.

Right now he's the only pure ''speed'' rusher that we have, and I think it could add a dimension on 3rd and pass that we haven't had in a while, especially in the Wide / A-Gap looks.

Addision / Butler / Peppers / Haynes

Could be a very interesting Nickel sub package for passing downs.

I think Haynes will be more that a situational pass rusher in time.  I think he will be a DE/OLB hybrid.  I watched a video on him and really like him.  Love his versatility and athletic ability.  If he can hold his own against the run, fine.

I am less optimistic about Hall.  I never liked the pick and can't really explain why.  Hope I am wrong-hope he worked his butt off this off season.

    • For example your data starts with Brady winning. Before that dynasty it was more wide open with different teams winning different ways. I don’t think that what they accomplished would be considered any sort of norm for the league (although the Chiefs might be proving me wrong currently).  I get what you are saying though. Teams just have to be looking for ways to win outside of finding the next Brady or Mahomes, because that’s just not realistic. That’s like counting on winning the lottery as part of your retirement plans. I would focus more on the other teams that have won and how they accomplished it. Most of those were solid, balanced rosters. One could argue the Patriots had a nice defense helping out Brady keeping games close for him to do his clutch drives. Similar to the Chiefs playoff run. Their defense isn’t getting enough credit either because it was tough in the playoffs.
    • If you have $100k in the bank and you live in a paid for home you can probably make it quite awhile relatively comfortably with SS supplementation as long as you're not being extravagant. Then you hit the first big medical expense and now you're in a financial tailspin.
