Even if it's a football role, though?

I don't believe Morrison was an enabler or anything, but to bring him back you still have to account for the close association with Richardson.

no, not football, and i think morrison was one of the few good things going in that front office. the only one that had any competency or really seemed to deserve the position he was in. he pretty much was the only thing that held everything together and when he "resigned" was when everything started falling apart. i wouldn't necessarily give him a job, but i sure would be knocking on his door to find out what was going on organizationally.

I could see that, but Tepper doesn't know him from Adam. Hard to imagine it actually happening unless someone suggests it to him.

Related: The Tennessee Titans have promoted Ryan Cowden from Director of Player Personnel to Vice President of Player Personnel.

Will he actually be doing anything different? Kinda doubt it, but he'll get more money for what he's doing.

This is the kind of thing teams do when they're trying to hang on to a young executive that other teams are interested in.

He doesn't know a lot if people in Charlotte connected to the team. Few had the access the have the scoop that a former president of the org would have. I'd be a lot more interested in what he had to say than the current person running the show, although I'd probably talk to both and then use the two perspectives to find out where the BS is.

A clean slate is a nice idea, but the reality is your gonna need someone who can give a good overview on the org. Where else is he going to get that?

Just putting this out there, but Mr. Perfect was the best Executive Consultant ever. With help from Perfect, Ric Flair humiliated "Macho Man" Randy Savage when scandalous pictures of Flair and Ms. Elizabeth surfaced. Then Flair won the world championship belt from Savage in a "dark" match in Hershey, PA, with Perfect by his side.

Unfortunately Mr. Perfect has been dead for some time now, but maybe we can send scouts to dig up his grave and gather his DNA. Combine that DNA with the DNA of some of history's other top Consultants (Henry Kissinger, etc) and we can make some kind of Serpentor-like Super Executive Consultant that will help Tepper bring home a Championship to the Carolinas.

Sorry I'm in a stupid mood today. Pie me, bitches.

(takes another hit off the blunt)

Oh, I like the idea.  I just have a hard time seeing it happen.

Granted, Tepper did say he would at least talk to the minority partners for info on Charlotte.  Maybe one of them mentions Morrison?

    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
    • How do I activate said Krispy Kreme deal? I'm stoned man you can't be playing with me about this...
    • When the broadcast showed the two benches side by side during the last TV timeout, it was pretty obvious the whole operation is a shitshow. If I was the owner, I would play that clip, with commentary, on the jumbotron at MSG as I fired the coach, GM, President, the whole lot. Bring in your AHL leadership team, wholesale, to finish out the season and start from scratch next year.  Can't fire all the players and fold the season. But, hopefully decapitating the zombie will light a fire under the body and burn out the cancer of the roster. (It makes sense if you don't think about it...) There are obviously issues on the roster. But, you can't have the entire coaching staff completely tuned out with 5 minutes left in a 2 goal game this early in the season. And you can't trust the people that hired them to hire the next staff. If you trust your AHL GM/Scouts, let them run the deadline firesale.   ...     Please don't let the owner read any of this. Because, this poo is hilarous!
