Peppers cant do anything about a trade, he cant stop one, nor can he or his agent work on a long term deal. Any trade for Peppers is at the risk of the team getting him that they will be able to work out a deal in the offseason or have to franchise him. Peppers is a Franchised player and no team can work out a long term deal with him, until the offseason.

I think you are mistaken. Once traded, teams can negotiate long term deals with franchise players. The restriction only applies to, I believe, the team that actually tagged the player. I could, however, be mistaken.
