And if McCaffrey gets hurt?

We've got several backups who "haven't done anything for us" this year. Would that make it a good idea to let go of them?

I'd add that Anderson actually did play for us this year and looked good doing it. Why not use him more, especially if we want to be ready for the playoffs?

I pointed out in my original post that this move would suck if McCaffrey gets hurt.

i think the second part is because CMC is clearly the better option regardless of the play. We want CMC out there whenever.

i think you have something mixed up, I never said releasing CJ was a good thing for us.

i understand you don’t like the move, but like I said the DC is a far greater concern to me and part of the reason this move doesn’t concern me.

its like breaking your right leg but complaining and a bruise on your left. Both suck, but one isn’t that big of a deal compared to the other.

If CMC got hurt, would Samuel be a better replacement?  He was an RB in college.

Don't know about better, since all his work with us has been WR, but he did have more rushing yards at OSU than receiving, and averaged almost 8 yds/carry in his last two years, so he certainly knows the position. In fact, considering size, speed, etc., Curtis is the best natural replacement for CMC, aside from the issue of running off tackle at 195 lbs.

So you want the DC fired immediately and nothing else matters?

I won't argue Washington has been bad at his job.

I get McCaffrey being the better option too, but you still have to be wise how you use him. Curtis Samuel running a long go route every play might be effective, but you're gonna wear him out doing that.

There comes a point when use becomes overuse, and if the season continues as it has been I think we're gonna be flirting with it.

We can multitask.

I’m worried about what is going to kill our season, I not going to shout to the mountains about something that “may” become an issue.

You have good points in your previous post. If you notice I haven’t argued any of that with you. Just stated about what concerns me. Nothing more or less.

There are some ways in which it may already have been an issue.

One of the things that Anderson is known to be pretty good at is pass blocking. This past game, we tried using McCaffrey as a pass blocker. Didn't go so well and Newton got plastered.

I have a hard time believing that other teams won't pick up on that.
