I'm saying CJ Anderson is better than Cameron Artis-Payne, and definitely a better fallback if something happens to McCaffrey.

Tyler Larsen isn't as good as Ryan Kalil, and Kalil hasn't missed a game...yet. Should we let Larsen go?

Cutting Larsen would hurt our cap and he isn't disgruntled.

You're referring to the last few games where he was barely even used?

Yeah. Good strategy.

Remind me. What stats did Cameron Artis-Payne put up the last 5 games?

He received his 2nd and 3rd highest carry total in 2 of those games.

His play in the first few games had us all raving about how effective our backfield could be. And as has been mentioned many a time, Anderson is a known commodity in the NFL. Eight teams were pursuing him at the time we got him.

Can you find any analyst out there who's excited about what Cameron Artis-Payne is going to bring to our offense?

35 yards in game 1

31 in game 2

Crap in the others.

Most FA RBs could replace that.

A thousand yards...last year...in an offense that was run by a crap quarterback.

If you think a complete unknown can easily measure up to that, I can't help you.

Again, you are basing this on the assumption that CMC will be hurt. CAP can ride the pine and rune 2 times a game just as well as CJ can. Why not give him a chance to be a feature back somewhere else? And you cannot honestly say that CAP will not perform, because he has never been given a shot. Hell for all you know he would have had 1000 yards behind that Denver line. This is all speculation, and for some reason, you have decided that Rivera sucks, Hurney still sucks, and nothing they do is ever going to be right.

You're basing it on the assumption that he won't. Both are equal.

You can say maybe Artis-Payne would have gotten a thousand yards behind that line with that quarterback. I can say Anderson did. Yours is theoretical. Mine is not.

And it's not our coaches job to see that guys get opportunities to be good with other teams. It's his job to make sure that our team wins games.

Can you explain to me how cutting quality depth from our roster is supposed to help that happen?

Removes a potential locker room distraction before it reaches critical mass, maybe? Hell I don't know, I just know it is not as big a deal as some of you are making it out to be.

Anderson has zero history of being a distraction. Just the opposite. He's known for being a model citizen and having a good work ethic.

As to whether it's a big deal, it's a stupid move and an unnecessary gamble. Whether or not it turns into a major problem depends on how lucky we are.

They say sometimes it's better to be lucky than smart. Well we better hope we're lucky, cause we damn sure don't look smart.
