Goodell wants more games and a franchise in UK....

LONDON -- NFL commissioner Roger Goodell expects the league to start playing multiple regular-season games in Britain in the next few years -- an expansion that could lead to putting a franchise in London.

Goodell said Friday that "every indicator" shows the British market can support more games and that having a franchise here is of "tremendous interest" to the league. But he stopped short of giving a timeline for expanding the NFL's overseas presence.

Goodell is a joke of a commissioner.

Let's just pretend for a second that this actually happens....

Their miles traveled will make even Seattle's look like a joke.

I know thats why I called Goodell a joke. How the hell he think's a west coast team can travel all the way to Britain and still have time to prepare against their opponent and not suffer during the game 'cause of jet lag is beyond me.

I don't know. If I'm the commissioner and on my list of things to do is to go international...

Wouldn't you first think about maybe Canada (Toronto?) or Mexico even?.. before you thought about Europe?

People get crazy hype over there about the Pats coming or something because it's one game. Supporting their own team? Doubtful.

Thats like if Chelsea and Man Utd played a game over here in NYC and it generated interest so the Premier League wanted to start a team over here..

Just a terrible idea for many reasons

what about hockey in the sunbelt then? do you have a prob with that?

not really a prob...but I think places like Winnipeg and Hamilton could support a team better than alot of those locations. The NHL has proven to be quite successful in many US cities...and let's not forget, the original 6 had 4 US based teams...they've been a big part of hockey since day one!

    • Ironic that out of all of the multiple players listed, you zeroed in on Bryce Young and only Bryce Young. No mention of Derrick Brown or Jaycee Horn... Hell, we can even add Icky to the mix but sure... let's laser-focus on Bryce. That's a hell of a mirror for you to run into. 👀 I'm not sure what "wisdom" you think you're imparting to the front office beyond the idea that the being Panthers means that they're destined to suck forever. That doesn't exactly sound like wisdom as much as it sounds like the same relentless doompilling you've been committed to. But sure, let's pretend it's "rational" to condemn a pick after limited rookie action and an injury setback (and that anything less than full-blown pessimism is bootlicking). That's certainly the lighthouse we all need in the storm that you insist is eternal... at least until you and only you, decide it's not. Unlike you, I'm not asking anyone to leave. I'll just keep showing up with facts and context. You're more than welcome to keep showing up with doom and gloom.
    • So you don’t think with his weight down /position more similar to what it was in 2023 he’s capable of 10+sacks? I don’t watch college football so just going off the write ups, like getting the opinions from folks who do
    • I'm excited for Scourton. Even if the sack numbers aren't there right away, he'll contribute and has a certain floor IMO. Would be thrilled if he can turn into a Charles Johnson-type contributor one day. Never a star (though, please do), but reliable and damn good at what he does.
