How? Last season he was statistically a top 15-20 player and a top 5 PG. This season, those same statistics show he's improved. Also he was third in votes, players and media votes got him the starting spot.

YeeeOOOWWW!!!

28-7 in last 9 mins tonight...

Hornets have basically done to Kemba what the Panthers have done with Cam for most of his career.. surrounded him with average players

Who has done a worse job of managing their team, Hornets or Panthers

Hornets... Michael Jordan has kept the Hornets in perpetual mediocrity.

that just shows how bad the east is compared to the west.

Not true. The East actually has more legit teams who could contend than the West this year. It's just the West has the best team. Plus Kemba is one of the top PGs in the league hence the starter vote.

Well, its hard for a small market NBA team to do anything.  Nobody wants to come to Charlotte, and only two or three college players in the draft each year become stars.  I still say we were screwed out of Anthony Davis.

Winning cures all. I wouldn't call the Spurs a "big market" team but they land good players all the time.

True, but I imagine that time is running down.  Most of the their championships have come on the backs of David Robinson and Tim Duncan.

I would have to somewhat disagree. Their 2014 finals run was on the back of the MVP Kawhi Leonard. By that time Tim Duncan was broken down and not the same player. I will say the foundation of their success for the past 2 decades has been Tim Duncan but they are still loading up.

I think the market thing is horse poo. Always has been. Golden State was a trash team for years. What happened? Drafted Steph, Klay, and Draymond...................

The Bulls were absolute garbage before they got MJ, what happened?

San Antonio was meh for years. Draft Duncan to pair with Robinson, get TP and Manu. 5 Titles later.........

Knicks are a bigger market and have been completely useless since Ewing left.

Celtics were trash for years before the Big 3 arrived, then after they left have taken years to become competitive again.

Lakers have been garbage two years before Kobe retired, and have been garbage since he left.

What it comes down to is being able to Draft properly. The Nuggets & Bucks are both Top 2 in their Conferences respectively. Because they Drafted well.

Sixers are another example of a team that took forever to become good-great.

Hornets haven't Drafted well, simple as that. Blame this all on MJ and Cho. Frank Kaminsky? I mean, really? MKG over Beal? The list goes on and on.

Tanking works, and it's the only way to get better in this League. Problem is, we didn't have to tank, if we just Drafted smartly. Even getting Booker would've had us as one of the better teams in the East. But nope, we have Frank fuging Kaminsky.

    • That was intended to be plural. Games(3 games he played in 2004). Yeah, I think objectively CJ is still the better QB but I also no longer have a rosy view of his career. I don't know that he is going to ascend any further than his rookie year and he may descend quite far if his confidence is shattered. I am not in the CJ vs. Bryce camp like most of you all are. I don't want either of them. Especially in the context of potentially getting a mega deal. I could be wrong about both or either in the end but my bet now is that entire 2023 first round QB class just doesn't have any upper tier QB's.
    • I think DJ will always catch some heat because he will never be an elite WR, despite having elite attributes. I remember that when he was here. We all saw Steve Smith play for years, so we know what a truly elite WR looks like. DJ was never that. Now, is he a very, very good WR? Yes. Is he one of the best 15-20 WR's in the NFL year in and year out? I would say yes, as well. But he will always get some doubters because he is the tier below the truly elite WR's. I do agree, though. Would love to still have it. Would love to have reversed that trade immediately. Especially with the benefit of hindsight the way we have now. It's way more painful from that view.
    • No, he never threw 8 tds in a game.  I feel like we're splitting hairs and are describing the exact same situation, but you're looking through the lens of recency bias.  Either way, the original point remains the same.  CJ Stroud is still far better than Bryce Young.
