The upside is we get healthy.

That's the only upside. And is it really that big of an upside with the way they're playing? Momentum is EVERYTHING in hockey. Injuries, well, we've proven we can withstand those, easily.

CBJ - BOS game 7 would be Wed May 8. Round 3 would probably start Friday or Saturday night so 7-8 day break. Islanders were off 9-10 days before this series. I don't know that it even mattered, the Canes may just have better conditioning overall. I'm sure the Caps would agree.

Umm, it mattered. They torched the Pens. And I mean, torched them. Like I stated, momentum is everything in hockey. We have injuries, but only one of the guys that are out were missed the past 3 games and that was Mrazek. You could even argue then he wasn't needed because Curtis was so solid.

The Pens were also not a very good team, in fairness. Still, I did and do believe the NYI were the best team remaining in the playoffs. TBH, it is hard to make an argument that we aren't the best remaining team now.

I still don't want to play Boston because they are so physical and we are dealing with so many injuries. Plus I hate every fuging Boston team in existence. It would also be nice to see San Jose lose and leave us with home ice the rest of the playoffs.

I just hope it goes to six games man. Because the only thing stopping the Canes right now, are the Canes, and rest. It sucks, but it's the truth.

This team historically has been garbage after long rest breaks. It's a dammed if you do, dammed if you don't situation for the Canes.

Raleigh is more of a hockey city than people realize. Even in the down years, you could spot Canes gear in the RDU area.

I'm just pumped that this team pulled it off.

Yeah, even when the Canes weren't good they still had Canes flags flying downtown.

The Boston/CBJ series has real potential to go to 7 games, unfortunately. I will take the rest. I don't think it is going to be easy to extinguish the fire that this group has.

I hope you're right. History is not on our side regarding that.

Also, as good as Curtis was the past 2 and a half games, you go with Mrazek if he's 100 percent next Friday. I think he will be the jolt you need, plus, Ferland will be back. That I hope gets the attention and keeps the team going hard.

The team wanted the sweep. They wanted the rest. We did fine after the all star break. CBJ swept Tampa and their going toe to toe with Boston. We'll be fine. A team getting swept after they swept opponent had only happened 3 other times. The truth is we could have had the same amount of rest as them and we still would have won.

Yeah, Mrazek is the guy but I am not sure we see him in the next series. Sounds like it was another groin injury and those are not usually a quick turnaround. I am a little pessimistic we see him back this playoffs.

Van Riemsdyk just announced was being out of the year with shoulder surgery. That is my biggest fear, that all these injuries are eventually going to be difficult to overcome.

Rod the bod (no gayness) said it wasn't as bad as he originally thought. I think with rest, he'll be able to start next Friday. Which feels like eternity from now.

Hope you're right man. I just want them to keep this momentum.
