Opinions: OL is terrible, Newton should sit the rest of season

I think instead of looking at individual QB's you can look at Super Bowls.  Teams that have gone on to win the Super Bowl have almost always had good to great OL's.  Teams with average to below average lines or individual lineman get exposed.  That's what happned in 2015... Panthers won the positon battle almost across the board but we were SEVERELY outmatched with Von Miller and it cost us the game.  Have to be able to protect the QB to win consistently and make it through the playoffs.

to me, that Super Bowl, was about Wade Phillips' playcalling and gameplan….and Ron and company not having a counter in game to it.

A consistent theme IMO was see today.   If you beat Ron's team early in the film room they can't adjust in game.

I think our line is ok as long as Williams isn't taking up either end honestly, and if Little can get healthy I feel really good about them. 49ers are an above average pass rush so I wouldn't throw Daley to the brig for that.

Well Daley is a 6th rounder, getting anything out of him from a depth perspective would be a success. Oh yeah I would feel much better about it if Little worked his way back in, but who knows when he will at this point? Concussions are no joke and we saw what happened with Oher.

We're mostly on the same page. I'm not arguing we can't win with this OL, and we can debate terminology as in are they average, serviceable, mediocre, yadda yadda. At the end of the day if we can't give our QB enough time for routes to develop it doesn't matter much regardless because we might be able to gut out some more regular season wins but as far as playoffs that's an uphill battle unless things change quickly.

One thing I absolutely agree on that others have mentioned is how we need to stop shuffling the line like we're rearranging chairs. Especially coming off a bye week when continuity is so important.
