Where's the enthusiasm?

I wont speculate on how old you of Igo is...but you couldn't not have been a member of this group for that long if THIS year makes you feel this way.

It is true, things have changed over the last decade. The biggest of that was that the site GREW and therefore became a legit business more than a fan page. As such, slowly changes happened such as engineered content, alt accounts that were made or created to stir up sentiment and generate comments (content), alot of fresh faces that come and go, and otherwise the random crap with trolls, spammers and such that is par for the course for internet sites in general, and especially user-generated content sites like this, or youtube...etc.

Fans are upbeat and love the team. But their voices and posts get drowned out because much like yahoo or reddit or whatever else you read....on content driven sites people react ( and create content/posts) about crap they disagree with and want to fight about. People dont often comment to say yes poster you are right....or yes poster you got it. What tey do however do is post to say fug your opinion...you are wrong and this is why...etc.

In short, what you are lamenting about is not really a lack of sentiment or enthusiasm of the team. What you see is a product of a content site that needs users to comment/interact with...and sa\\vy site owners know users interact with content they disagree with/want to argue with FAR more than content they agree with

Cheer up. True Panther nation is strong. Dont gauge fan sentiment on this forum. Check roaring riot if you truly want to know

Ouch.

Since 2015 ended with a moan, it has been one year of disapointment after another. 2016, fans lost a fun player and turned on our most winning GM for being an ass. 2017 brought us back Hurney, who in the end does not win and took one season to put together a squad that droped 22 (edit 18) loses in the next two years while mishandling/carrer murdering our franchise's best, most liked and most amazing player. Now our coach is gone (at least a year after his issues were known and insurmountable, i think 2), the GM who can't win is still here with a huge WTF in the air on how long we will have to suffer through his 'skills' and flat not winning and our entire deffense is in desperate need of help and direction. CMC is basically the bright spot at the moment and i have a feeling the Lions & Sanders comparison is apt. Our Owner has shown very little football ability but is lining up to make money hand over fist regardless while sprinkling us with hope through lip service and a domed practice field. Next year could be worse so yeah, kinda bleak.

Im going to watch the game anyways, eat some food and contemplate the fate of PSLs. It's grim but honestly, that's not new. I doubt to see anything good until the coach search and acquisition but then that giant WTF of incompetence will still be here giving it his all to ensure we don't win because that is what he has done for more than a decade. We will see what is what after the draft and utill then i don't imagine much enthusiasm because the team hasn't given us much reason to have any. Enjoy football because it's  football not because its good football.

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
