Yeah he basically was our 3rd linebacker last year he has no business at the safety position anymore . Ask Jared cook

He had no business being in the box on passing downs having to turn his hips and attempt to cover Jared Cook but that's what happens when you dont have DTs that can stop a HB from getting 5 yards and you are playing single high on 3 and 7.

I think it would be great to convert Reid to OLB imo. Upgrade at safety that is actually good in coverage.

He would look much better if he were playing cover 2 or 3 with his back to the endzone on passing downs but he was in the box on passing downs, it's a mismatch for a SS.

Very possible-likely.  Expect Carter to get a shot at OLB (4-3)

I think we will be playing alot of nickel and I'm hoping the new staff allow a healthy competition for ROLB and whoever is best is the one that is fielded if that's Jordan or Carter all good.

Jordan K ran about a 4.8 at the combine, and that caused him to drop out of the bottom part of the draft--

But if he demonstrates Luuuukish intelligence, reads quickly, I do not see why he would not be a person who could become a starting LB--his tape in college does not look slow at all.

I would then put Shaq at SLB and probably look at Carter at WLB--if we were going with the roster as is.

Tbh Luke wasn't the fastest or most athletic guy in the world but his extreme IQ, work ethic, and Stanima is what made him so amazing. His first step was probably the best of any linebacker of all time, no wasted movement and his study of film literally allowed him to run TE routes for them....man I'm still in disbelief that he's gone, I just didn't see it coming, didn't know about his other injuries outside of the concussions.

Him being in the box the only reason i still want him on this team lol

He no doubt is and I dont understand why hes so underrated around here, the guy hasn't had the opportunity to shine yet. People forget what Luke looked like playing ROLB until Beason got hurt and he moved to MLB. The biggest difference in the 43 between these two positions is the MLB can be involved in every play not just the plays that flow to his side and he will be backpedaling into center field giving him more opportunities to make plays.

You’re 100% correct. Shaq is a true 4-3 middle linebacker.

    • You don't have to go through every game and point it out as we are discussing his GWDs. You specifically called out that he had GWDs because he is the reason the team is always playing from behind. We looked at those eight games and only Miami stands out as one where he put the team in a hole to begin with. You've added the Atlanta game where the team didn't score a TD but only kicked field goals. You're not trying to change what we're discussing to fit your feelings re: Bryce. That's not necessary. We are discussing GWDs per the thread topic. We have also shown that your opinion that the team has had to always come back due to Bryce was proven to be false as was the claim that "minus one game" was his fault. Appealing to emotion afterwards by trying to broadly paint the rest of the losses in the same way just doesn't work. Where in the Hell did you get that the entire point is the suggestion that BY is more clutch than Jake and/or Cam? It's giving something to be positive about in that Bryce has shown the ability to comeback and win games despite the calamity that might have taken place to put them behind to begin with. How is that blasphemy?
    • His run blocking is making up for his negatives in pass blocking right now.  He’ll still have pass blocking hiccups, but if they think he’s a critical part to the locker room and team construction, you probably re-sign him and try not to overpay.
    • Callahan is gone McDaniel and Taylor are happening Stefanski is a growing possibility. I mean, they need to get an offense going eventually.  Could see Morris as a surprise one.
