Reality Check

Recommended Posts

A lot of people on here with a lot of opinions on the game today. Which is all well and good, every one is entitled to thier opinion. Unfortunately, a lot of these opinions are like assholes.

The reality is that we lost this game not because of one person or because of one part of the team didn't play well enough. We lost this game today because the Saints are a better football team than we are.

Yeah, Jake wasn't perfect, the RB's fumbled the ball on key plays, the D gave up some big plays, the WR's dropped some crucial passes, Peppers didn't have any sacks, the coaches didn't call the right plays. There are a multitude of reasons for why we lost, but the cumulative reason is because the Saints are the best team in the NFC and they proved it today.

Bitch and moan all you want about whomever you want but that is what it boils down to. The Saints are a damn good football team.

I think the play calling (defense and offense) left a little to be desired in the 2nd half.

We went tooo conservative in the 2nd half. I know Fox wants to protect Jake but at some point you have to let him be a QB.

I think you could see Jakes frustration in the game because of the play calling. I dont blame him.

Hell. If we are to lose, lets do it throwing INT's and guns blazing.

While I agree that we were too conservative in the 2nd half of the game, what would you be saying if we would have gotten out to the 20 on the last "possesion with a hope", and Jake would have thrown an INT. I'm sure it would not be, well at least we tried.

What I am trying to say is that there are just so many reasons to why we lost today trying to pin it on one facet of the game is stupid. We flat out lost. We tried and we played well for 3 quarters but that is not enough against a team like the Saints.

And you just gave us the reason why Jake is no longer the QB we want at starter. Caoches don't trust him and his not what we want as starter anymore. point blank.

    • T-Mac is a nickname, Tet is a shortening of Tetairoa. Like you said below... your name is Jonathan, I could see "Jonny" being considered a nickname, but Jon isn't a nickname, it's a shortening of Johnathan, see the difference? And if your mom named you Jonathan for it's biblical significance/meaning, because she was very religious, I think it would be different. T-Mac is Polynesian, so much in their culture has deeper meaning for them, particularly names.  So for his mom to feel this way, I highly doubt it's just because she likes the name Tetairoa and not Tet, it's much more likely than not to be because the name itself has a deeper meaning in their culture.   Particularly as T-Mac himself has often talked about how much his Polynesian heritage means to himself and his family. And no, I'm not saying all this because of how much he's my guy, if he was just "normal american" and his name was Jonathan and he didn't like fans calling him Jon, I'd probably just say tough poo.  It's that he's Polynesian and I know things like names have a much deeper meaning in their culture than they do in ours for the most part. For whatever it's worth, a quick google search.......
