QB, or OC?

Casual fans really aren't equipped to be answering this question.

"Joe Brady gets most of the credit" - based on what?  Our elite receivers getting open?  How much of that is them being schemed open vs. their own talent/route running?  Most of the play designs I've seen on gameday have looked pretty standard...but again, I'm one of these casual fans who isn't equipped to be answering this question.  I, like most everyone else here, don't fully understand the intricacies of play designs, schemes, route running, etc.  Plus I just don't have access to all this information just from watching the game on TV every Sunday.

It's very difficult to assign credit when we've made so many changes in the course of one offseason.  If you keep most of the variables constant from the previous season (for example, QB and WRs) and change one variable (like OC) and experience greater success, then you say well there's reasonable evidence to suggest that the OC was the greatest contributor to that improvement.  If you change the OC, head coach, QB, o-line, and bring in a new #1 WR then things become a lot more muddled.

My general observation on these boards is that Joe Brady seems to have been anointed as this incredible OC before he even called his first play here.  Not sure yet how much of that is confirmation bias (since virtually everyone was excited about the signing) and how much is legitimate.  Way too early to tell.

Just like Brady’s system is meant to do.

For years the huddle screamed for Cam to get the ball out quicker. We draft guys like CMC, Samuel and Moore for this exact reason. Now we have a OC that utilizes these guys the way they were intended for and the Huddle bashes the QB.

Classic.

I'm not "the Huddle". I wasn't screaming that about Cam in Shula's system. I was screaming how Shula needs to actually have some checkdown options available. Cam showed to be capable of using them in Norv's system.

I do never tire of your constant smugness while being completely tone deaf. Every time you quote me I know I'm gonna get a chuckle out of it.

    • We were very banged up going into that Rams game. Our second best player (Horn), our best safety, and both starting ILBs were out. I feel like our defense has really been impressive considering a year ago. If our offense learns how to be balanced like they were against the Rams, we can honestly beat anyone. Those losses to the Saints and 49ers may have been what we needed to figure out that when we depend too much on either running exclusively or passing exclusively that we are no good. That Rams game showed what we can do when we are in sync offensively and it was so much fun to watch. If that offense shows up this week then go ahead and cancel your plans the second weekend in January as you will have a game to watch.
    • and we won a game in the playoffs.....where our leading receiver was Fozzy Whitaker w/ just 39 rec yards.  That feels like a 2025 Panthers type winning setup.
    • Yep, the board has amnesia to the weekly swings and declarations made.  The same cast of characters has been talked about vastly different repetitively and you only have to go back as far as the game before the last one....and just keep repeating that pattern largely backwards.  I personally feel confident that this team is not bad and it is not good.  And while that is nice to get back to be out of the literal dumpster......I don't view this team as an average team w/ a puncher's chance.  All average teams are of different molds.  We are more the, if a really good team plays bad, you will lose to us variety.  We aren't bad enough where you can get away with a bad day vs us anymore.
