Give the Saints credit, but the Panthers giftwapped this one.

I have to admit. John Fox had a great idea for a game plan coming in, too bad it didn't work very well. The problem is without even a threat of a legitimate passing game, this Panthers team is just too easy to figure out. I think we are have the best run game in the NFL. We know we can do it, and every knows we can do it. We Run on 3rd and 1 and 3rd and 21. We don't pass until we absolutely have to, and by that time the Defense knows what is about to happen. But lets go to the Saints game.

We didn't lose because DeAngelo Williams fumbled the ball. (yea we did, but let me make my point). We lost because of our conservative play-calling. We played like we were afraid to attack the Saints. Why? because our QB is a turnover machine. We held on to the lead without even a sense of urgency, knowing the Saints have comeback to beat their opponents every single time they get behind. John Fox is a solid NFL coach, but this game showed his flaws as a coach, and makes me believe that their are better options out there moving forward. and that goes for his OC as well.

They let Delhomme air it out on occasion, it was because of the effective running that they were able to throw well late. The gameplan almost won us the game. Although almost obviosuly isnt good enough when you play the team of calibur of the Saints.

Bottom line is it the coaches not Jake. Warner had 6 picks last week and this week he threw for 5 Tds. Bottom line is they didn't let a bad performance or 11 Ints so far this season stop their passing game. Like wise Jake has thrown no picks in the last 2 games and only six since the bye with only 4 of them being meaningful (gamechangers).

The coaches were already too conservative and Jake's troubles just gave them reason to be even more predictable. The short and intermediate passing game has been working for the past 2 weeks and it will work from here on out. Let Jake be Jake. Since supposedly they have stopped changing his mechanics and gameplanning, he has 0 picks.

I agree, and you have to wonder how long Double Trouble can hold up under this kind of workload.

You can't hide your quarterback in this league and win. We played totally one-dimensional offense yesterday and it was easy for the Saints to adjust to.

The Saints are good, I'm not taking anything away from them - but after jumping out to a good lead we curled up in a ball and sucked our thumbs and waited for the clock to run out before the Saints caught up... you can't win that way.

True that! They are not that good! If a team like ours, should have won, they won't go far in the playoffs, if they make it!

if we make the playoffs? You are some comedian; you at the Hilton all week?

    • I think he's gone, and rightfully so, if he turns in another losing record. The "talented roster," regardless of how true or not, is a double-edged sword. If the roster is so much improved now from 202X then why are you still producing losing seasons? On one hand, maybe that's what needs to happen. Have the GM hire the new coach, and then have the new coach pick his guy to run his system. That is typically how it works in the NFL. Not the forced inheritance deal we have had in place.
    • Hinging on Brooks to be our spark...be good if it happens... but not holding my breath....RB next draft. Morgan gambled...it would be a 2 year payoff if thing happened.
    • Only way Canales is fired is if we are attrocious everywhere....  defense /special teams and offense..  There are enough "questions" on if BY9 is the guy that ownership wouldn't fire the coach for "just" mid qb play.  Especially with as talented a roster that has played "well enough" to win some tough football games and hang in there against the top tier of the NFL ...(mostly).   Now total team suckage..yeah .. but I don't see that happening.
