I think that Williams, Peppers, or Delhomme all make strong cases. The point for me would be which one of the 3 could we have done without and still be close to where we are. Could Stewart have come in if Williams were hurt and made up the difference? Could our linemen have made up for Peppers if he wasn't here. Could Moore or McCown have come in and replaced Jake.

Who is the biggest contributor to turning around last year's 7-9 and this year's 11-4?

Using that logic you would go with Peppers or Delhomme who were non existent last year and both game changers this year.

On the other hand Wiliiams is having the best year of any running back in our franchise history.

Tough choice and several are surely deserving.

Deangelo is great, but also has a solid backup. Jake is just good, but there would be a larger dropoff than with Deangelo.

I tend to think as you do. Scary I know! But to me MVP is who is the most irreplaceable guy. In that scenario it would be Jake or Peppers both of whom we couldn't do without on their side of the ball.

That's a valid point, however we are a running team. The most important cog in a running team is the running back. I think Stewart probably would have stepped in and done a good job, but you can't argue with Deangelo's accomplishments thus far this season.

      I love Chubba.  Been a fan since I heard about his story when he was at Ok St.  and no doubt his production and progression is impressive, but this is my one nitpick - he was always touted for his speed, having come from a track background, so I am honestly surprised he doesn’t have more breakaway runs for TDs than what he has achieved thus far.  But to be fair, it often feels like he is constantly having to break tackles, so when he breaks the last one where it would just be nothing between him and the end zone, that usually took long enough that a defender from the opposite side of the field got an angle to catch up.  I really hope with the receiver additions, Bryce moving forward with confidence and proving that ending stretch last season wasn’t an aberration, and another year of synergy for the OL, Chubba is gonna have some wide open running this season.  He is definitely special.  Proud of him and happy he is getting rewarded for all his hard work…

      If you're in the left lane, look to the right. Is there someone beside you? Are you soon overtaking someone in the right lane immediately ahead of you? No and no? Then get the fug over. That's how it's supposed to work. Doesn't matter if you're going 100.
