Here's the link to the weekly "Stats & Superlatives" article from Panthers' Will Bryan:

TONS of fun stats in there....

The section on the defense is just so fun to read:

  • The Panthers defense held the Texans to 193 net yards, the third straight game of holding an opponent under 200 yards. Carolina has only allowed 573 yards through its first three games, the fewest allowed by any NFL team starting 3-0 since 1992.
  • The Panthers defense gave up just 42 rushing yards, and Carolina now has the fewest rush yards allowed (135) through the first three games of a season in franchise history. It's the eighth-fewest in the NFL, dating back to 1995.
  • The Panthers recorded four sacks and nine quarterback hits. Carolina's 14 sacks through the first three games tie the 1998 team for the best start in terms of total sacks.
  • The Panthers limited held the Texans to 1-of-9 on third down. Carolina has allowed just a 21.2 percent third-down conversion rate, second-best (20.5, 2002) in franchise history through three games.

Week 3 Snap Counts:

  • Jaycee Horn played 37 snaps before leaving the field with a foot injury. Juston Burris only played one fewer snap before he left with a groin injury around the same time.
  • Sean Chandler played a career-high 80 percent of the snaps on the backend, making two tackles. Rashaan Melvin (29 snaps) and Sam Franklin Jr. (15 snaps) saw snap increases to replace Horn and Burris.
  • Brian Burns played 84 percent of the snaps, his highest since the game at Green Bay last season. He had his fifth-straight game with a sack.
  • Haason Reddick also played 84 percent of the snaps, recording his third-straight game with at least 1.5 sacks.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
