No one in the world has as much job security as Danny Crossman

2005: 5th (his first year)

3 of the last 4 years, the Panthers special teams has been a visible weakness, costing Carolina field position, easy points, stupid turnovers, and unnecessary hills to climb.

There are numerous Panthers coaches and players who obviously don't go to sleep at night worrying about a pink slip waiting for them at work the next morning, but Crossman is the most glaring. He's completely inept at what he does. 2008 was inflated by Lloyd booting them out of the endzone and playing a collection of useless asshole teams.

But I strongly agree with this comment, there is no accountability on this team. We're so caught up in being "loyal" and "steady" that we can't see the writing on the wall when change needs to happen.

    • There probably isn’t an orthopedic surgery that has had more improvement in technique and outcomes over the last two decades than the acl repair. Because of its importance in pro sports and the sheer number that surgeons do there have been lots of opportunities to practice 1. Better techniques - arthroscopic v open surgery means people heal faster  2. More training - all sports med surgeons have tons of experience doing them 3. better imaging - later generations of mri are more sensitive  4. better therapy - PTs have gotten better at rehabbing them and the theories of rehab have improved a lot. No idea about brooks in particular tho, but I’d describe that overall situation as “not great”
    • If Freeling or either of the Utah OTs dropped to 19 I'd be more than happy honestly. Our OT situation isn't great with an aging Moton at RT and a mess of a situation at LT if Walker goes down at any point in time.  What I'm expecting the Panthers to do is probably draft another weapon like Sadiq or KC Conception. That's been their track record in drafting R1 thus far. None of the defensive talent projected to be around 19 stands out to me. Unless they just want to draft a LB early (Rodriguez,  CJ Allen, Anthony Hill, Jake Gollday).
