Completely agree. Just adds to the game day experience, never understood stadiums and arenas in the middle of nowhere (PNC isn’t that bad).

The National rugby stadium in Wales is in center of City and game days were just amazing all day events

Not to completely hijack this thread but what do you think about ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ and Reynolds and McElhenney taking over the team… it’s very fascinating from a US soccer fans point of view.

I haven’t watched the series yet but I think it’s great that they have chosen a community club to invest in.

it’s hard to explain how much the local teams mean to the people who live around them. It’s so distant to billionaire owners who only care how much you spend in their stadium.

Add to that that the promotion/relegation in the leagues means they genuinely could make it to the EPL one day (very unlikely but still) and it’s just a great story

I found myself watching Wrexham take on Blythe on Saturday morning in the FA Cup on ESPN. It was a fun watch.

It’s crazy what is shown live over here these days. When I moved over 15 years ago it was impossible to watch games I wanted to. The FA Cup is a great competition, a local community team can end up playing Man Utd and the TV money and gate receipts will help them survive a few more years.

    • And really, it should be 4 reasons with the last one being that there were ZERO other offensive weapons on that team in 2024, opposing defenses only had to worry about one player all year long and they constantly double and triple teamed him right off the snap all season.  In 2023, we still had Jacob Cowing who had 90 catches that year and was drafted by the 49ers last year, so teams couldn't just send everyone after T-Mac on every passing down.
    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
