Jake will start next week....

After what I saw from Moore today, It's a draw between the two. If Jake does start, I hope he is on a very short leash.

Really, a draw? The gameplan never gave Moore a chance to do anything but manage the game. Other than the one pick, he did a pretty good job of it. How many times have we seen Delhomme miss that long ball to Smith this year?

Jake's simply lost the ability to make a lot of the throws an NFL QB has to make... Moore is still raw, but he can make those throws... but there's no telling what Fox will do, he is a stubborn bastard.

Exactly. Jake misses too many of the routine throws now. That might have been the difference in a low scoring game like today.

Yep... Jake still has the experience and the ability to read the defenses, etc. but he's no longer able to pyhsically make those throws now, and ends up forcing the ball into where he shouldn't... and other times he either way under, or more often way over throws the receivers... it's sad to watch actually.

Yeah, a draw. So the play calling holds Moore back but lets Jake loose? Moore is not the answer except for the rest of the season. But I didn't see any thing that says he is any better than Jake ever was.

I don't care if Moore is better than Jake ever was, he is definitely better than Jake is now. That long pass to Smith is a pass that Jake has consistently missed on all year. Moore laid it out in a good position for Smith to go get and not have to slow down much.

Moore definitely made some mistakes, and was fortunate to not get picked off more than he did. But he made a play with the game on the line, and thats what we need, and what we haven't had much of this year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Jake start. With the way New England has been playing, Fox may think (after sitting down for a game) that Jake will finally rehabilitate himself against his Superbowl nemesis. I'm not saying it's logical. But Fox has been on a mission all year to resurrect Delhomme. He has said so repeatedly. I'm not saying I agree with it, I'm just trying to understand Zod's reasoning.

    • I agree, but I've already said that the players will definitely take more money up front because it's more security. But they want more guaranteed money and NFL FOs don't want to do that for several and various reasons, and that's what's at issue.  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-second-round-rookies-finally-starting-to-sign-what-took-so-long-and-what-it-means-for-future-contracts/ It's a tug of war between teams and players, and, sure, paying a player a signing bonus may satisfy them, especially if--and sometimes "only if"--it ultimately leads to a guarantee of more of their contract, but the teams are on the hook for all of those guarantees when cap time comes, so if they guarantee more money, they're ultimately losing the contract game.
    • TBH, these are the kind of players that get weeded out of professional sports pretty quickly. Also, CMC is not that guy. There is zero indication that he isn't competitive.
    • I like the free agency. It actually helps basically all schools across the board. Pretty much only ancient HC's and/or HC's that haven't been able to adjust have been complaining about the free agency. Your fortunes can be made or broken every offseason. It's not like before where a bad recruiting class or two meant multiyear purgatory.  I will never understand all the bellyaching about the NIL. If you want to talk about what ruined college athletics, it has been naked greed. Conference expansions for TV revenue, ever skyrocketing AD and facilities costs and now the attempts to permanently ruin the postseasons(football and basketball).  All the kids did was get a very well deserved piece of a very, very, VERY broken pie.
