Why can't we use Smith like N.E. uses Welker?

Considering the season is over, I think we should try Rosario as a deep threat. We can't lose anything. Give Moore and Martin a run-out, too because Moose and Jarrett aren't cutting it.

But of course, we have Coach Fox, so we won't.

Why can't we use Smith like N.E. uses Welker? Can you imagine Smith playing sand-lot ball like Welker does? Smith is everything Welker is only faster and stronger.

It's just another example of this coaching staff being too set in it's ways. We FINALLY saw a reverse out of sheer desperation...:banghead:

The light at the end of the tunnel for me this season is the dismissal of Fox. He's had some good years here, but it's clearly time to move on.

Yeah, would be nice to use Smith like that. The only problem is if we use Smith as a Wes Welker (#2 receiver) then who's going to run long routes & actually get open? Who's going to run slots? The pats had Welker & Moss, who are both very athletic & quick. We only have Smith, Moose & Jarrett...Moose is becoming too old (oh well) & Jarrett is a bust

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly. We could have had multiple if we had done this in the past.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
