Off-season options loom for Panthers

About Jake and the possibility he'd bounce back...

Minnesota's Brett Favre has excelled this season at age 40, four years after throwing a career-worst 29 interceptions for Green Bay in 2005.

Seriously? Yeah, let's just sit and wait for Jake to maybe do this turnaround as well. Heck, even if it also takes four seasons, it's nothing but roses for us! HAAAAAAAAAHAHAHA.

So he is trying to compare Jake to Pharve? Jake was never as good as Pharve in his worst year. They are just trying to make a case for the past instead of accepting he is through and needs to retire. It's looking like JR should really get involved in this one if he wants a winning team next year. If Jake starts Fox will give us the same BS line and when it's too late only then will he make a change. Get ready for another shitty season.........I think I still have some 49ers gear to wear next year....:(

why would we even want to put ourselves through the trials of an aging QB year to year

"well he didn't do good last year but maybe he will this year"

or maybe we can just stop putting off getting a new QB as long as we possibly can and put Matt Moore in the pilot's seat or someone else.

Jake was much better than favre that year. They both had the same problem, game starts turning sour they would put it on themselves to win it back. Constantly forcing the ball into impossible situations.

    • Thank you for literally proving my point in so much detail.  Which of those QB's you listed did not go on to be serviceable? Yes, there are a ton of variables that make comparisons less valuable in a lot of way but the whole point is can a pro QB overcome a bad or horrible start.  I'm sorry if you think 3 games more in his first year and 3 less in his 2nd somehow makes the Brees comparison not relevant.  That is blantently disingenuous and makes having real discussions a pain the butt.  We're comparing "similar" bad situations and bad QB play early in a players career. Some of the stats, like games won are lower for Bryce but still comparable.  Other stats like interceptions are in Bryce's favor, ie 19 for Bryce over 2 years and 31 for Brees.   Maybe we are not answering the same question. George stated "Show me anyone who has been as bad as Bryce through 30 games and turned into a serviceable player much less a star." I could have just said, Maddox and Young and proven his statement wasn't factual.  It's the over the top pearl clutching and hyperbolic statements that make my eye twitch.
