Peppers inspired again?

Ever since Matt Moore has taken the helms, it seems that Peppers has been playing a little more inspired.

Last week against the Giants, after Moore made the TD throw to Moose, Pep met Moore halfway and gave him props, slapped hands, hugged him, and all that good poo. Now, I was just watching the highlights from today's game, and at the 20 second mark, Peppers appears running down the sideline cheering on Jonathan Stewart's 67 yard TD run. http://www.nfl.com/videos/carolina-panthers/09000d5d81575932/NFL-Scoreboard-Saints-vs-Panthers-higlights On the sidelines, he looks like he is enjoying himself and smiling again. I haven't noticed him act like this all season.

With that being said, do you think the recent turnaround with Matt Moore at QB, paired with the way the defense has been playing under Meeks, has done enough to inspire Pep to sign a long term deal with us? I hope so, but it remains to be seen.

apparently Beason thinks its a good possibility

Peppers split quickly, but teammates sounded more optimistic than ever that they can lure him back. The Panthers now have a window to negotiate a long-term contract, or they have the option to use the franchise tag again

“It’s just a matter of the contract now,” linebacker Jon Beason said.

Jake not starting next year. Thats a fact. Fox isn't that dumb to start Jake on a short leash. He would get fired quickly

Thats if he decide to be back and work under a short leash. If he dont, that possibility with Jake is absolutely out the window

Its gotta suck as a defensive player playing your ass off, getting the ball back, then the QB just giving it away again several times a game. There may be something to it.

If somehow he knew for sure that Moore would be the starter next season, I really believe he would sign a new contract, gladly. But with the possibility of Jake starting next year. Who knows what he will do?

This and this. Hopefully, Julius is back next year and Jake is gone.

Damn, wish he would have realized Moore was the starting QB in the New England game.

    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
