We Have To Find Moore A #2 WR!

Matt Moore played very well the last 5 games of the season but I think he could be a great QB if we find another WR. Smitty has said he want's the front office to bring in someone this offseason to take some pressure off him so we must give the man what he wants! I looked at the top 10-15 WR's in the upcoming draft and I didn't like what I saw so I looked at potential free agent WR's this offseason and here are some of the bigger names...

1. Brandon Marshall - Broncos

2. Terrell Owens - Bills

3. Vincent Jackson - Chargers

4. Miles Austin - Cowboys

5. Braylon Edwards - Jets

6. Lance Moore - Saints

7. Dominik Hixon - Giants

8. Antonio Bryant - Buccaneers

9. Steve Breaston - Cardinals

10. Chris Chambers - Dolphins

I know this team well enough to know that Jerry probably won't go after guys like Brandon Marshall or Terrell Owens but man would I love for us to sign Vincent Jackson or Miles Austin. I wouldn't mind signing Braylon Edwards, Lance Moore or Dominik Hixon but I think we need to get someone better.

What do you guys think the Panthers will do about finding a #2 WR?

I'll bite....simply because I am bored.

1. Brandon Marshall - Broncos - Best of the bunch, but a loudmouth and too expensive

2. Terrell Owens - Bills Really? Well past his prime. He destroys teams...his OWN team

3. Vincent Jackson - Chargers Chargers will lock him up

4. Miles Austin - Cowboys Cowboys will lock him up

5. Braylon Edwards - Jets Not sure about how this will go down. But the Jets have to be pleased with how fast he came in

6. Lance Moore - Saints Only good because of an excellent QB.

7. Dominik Hixon - Giants I like Hixon and think he has potential to get acquired on the cheap, considering the Giants bloated WR corps

8. Antonio Bryant - Buccaneers Age is worrisome

9. Steve Breaston - Cardinals I like him, but is he simply a product of open coverage due to Fitzgerald and Boldin constantly being covered?

10. Chris Chambers - Dolphins Underrated, I believe. But he didn't fully prove himself with the Dolphins and was spotty with the Chargers but seemed to do well in KC.

I just don't think any of those guys are realistic. The Panthers never acquire big name WR's, and trading for them is out of the question. I think we look young, in the draft, or sigh.... with Jarrett. Who knows, maybe Moore can spark him to play better (as evidenced vs. Saints)

So we have this revalation, NOW, that this team needs WR depth since the QB situation has changed?

R-E-A-L-L-Y??????????

That point could have been argued 13 out of 15 years this team has been in existence.

Statements like this make me wonder how long some of these "fans" have been around.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
