This chart should end all speculation as to if Delhomme will return

Isn't that what everyone has been clamoring for years. Or is that only a good idea relevant as long as we can pick who gets to compete and who wins.?? If he works as hard as Jake did all these years then his physical talent should win out. As long as Moore shows he can study, break down film and practice as well as he plays, it should be no competition.

So we hope.

This.

There is this fear that it won't be a fair competition and Jake will win the job by default. Assuming Fox is here next year, I'm not sure he's in the position to "be loyal" as many believe he'll do and not pay the consequences if it doesn't work out.

what's he got to lose by starting jake though? that's my biggest concern. if he plays jake all year and jake sucks like he did this year, then he doesn't get a new contract. oh well for him.

everyone else in the league seems like they would love for him to be their coach. he'd find a job in no time. he could basically say fug you all, i'm playing my guy and there is nothing you can do about it.

Not sure other teams will love him as much if he makes a decision that isn't what a typical coach would do and results in us having a crappy record next year.

In other words, his prospect for job openings if that's the route he's going to take after next year is much better if we finish 12-4 next season instead of 4-12.

What has he got to lose? 16 games. Fox has shown that he will make the change if he doesn't beleive in his guy like he did with Peete. Fox isn't going to throw Jake under the bus but it doesn't mean he can't see that Moore is the future. After all we have all known that Jake's time was limited even if he played better which he didn't.

as soon as i posted that i realized that his demand might decrease if he posted a shitty record next year. I still maintain that he would find work very easily though.

I'm just preparing for the worst.

    • That he gets worse while at the same time getting more exposure is just typical.
    • And, yes, I've been a slow boil, but watching continually watching shitty displays of football for weeks has me frustrated.
    • Bryce just didn't maximize Hunter Renfrow's skills. ***rant incoming*** But this isn't just about Bryce Young mistiming passes to Renfrow so bad that he's going to get Renfrow killed or hurt, this is also about incompetentence by Dave Canales. Renfrow can still play. He's putting DBs in a blender out there---making them play twister at the top of routes to keep up with him, and dumb Dave has the nerve to cut him. How about putting Hunter in the best position to help the damned offense by appreciating his skill set, DC? You're letting Bryce's apparent inability to make an accurate throw, or at least his timidity to push the ball down the damned field cloud your judgment and miscalculate talent---or maybe just miss on talent just as much as Bryce misses passes due to playing pussified football. It's fúcking unacceptable.  Speaking of misjudgment, I don't know if it's Dan Morgan or Canales, but Eijiro Evero is not the business at DC. I have said a few times that his scheme is not conducive to run-stopping efficiency. Hell, and after watching some clips of plays, now I absolutely know why. The gaps are at least half open before the play even fúcking starts. You are setting the opposition's RBs up for success with too much damned space at the line and in the second level. If our guys are taken out in these areas---at the line and in the second level---then the defense is screwed because it must rely on the safeties to cover too much ground to make the tackle. At least put Ransom in who is motivated to seek and destroy if you're going to effectively leave the safeties on an island.  And speaking of rookies, get our two new defensive ends more snaps to see if we can't generate more of a pass rush. For all the good the continued sorry display of defense that you're putting out for fan's to see (Ejiro, Dave and Dan), you may as well get the rookies generously involved. Fúck that money we gave second-rate (maybe second-rate) vets, we need a damned spark getting after the QB. Watch it, it's just another breakdown of the sh¡t we were subjected to last week. I say this with all respect: Fúck you, Dave! Fúck you, Dan! Learn how to run a fúcking franchise. Maximize the players, regardless of what you think you're supposed to do by the book. Cut the dead weight before another season is lost and fans lose interest in September. EE is "Ew!" Or for emphasis "EEw!" /end rant
