Will we not know the QB situ until the draft or...

Just read what Panthers55 said. This thread is not going to generate any new, unique, and interesting conversation.

Probably not.Definitely not with posts like yours. See my unoriginal thread was worth more than your post...oh the irony. But thats ok, wasn't the point of thread. Also panther55 has been wrong over and over again on this forum, so ....crappy advice .

You guys are missing the point, I am not asking to know now. Soon most teams have a designated guy that is most likely their next year QB especially after the draft, and going into camp. The only thing I was wondering if there was a sort of time line, in a situation like the panthers on knowing things like this. Some teams wait until gameday, some don't. Again like I posted our first pick in the draft and trades up to that are going to tell everyone, QB is a hard position to try and keep quiet about. This i what I meant by covering up, they are covering the subject up much like Jake's finger. Not very respectable IMO.

Its been years since the Panthers underwent a QB change, so is it so stupid to ask what it will be like?

Who has the upper hand going into camp is the big mystery and I sense it is Delhomme, I understand camp determines who starts but its becoming real obvious.

I think the Jake lovers love this...congrats guys.

Haha true... Thats one thing I wish would change about Carolina... as a fan you never know whats going on with the team, you never hear about them on espn or anything. It will be awhile before you know who's the starter... Moore deserves it but it could be Delhomme... who knows but I'm thinking Moore will start.

Gee I wonder if the opposition wishes the same thing. It sure might make preparing to play us easier. Plus why don't we wait to see if Moore picks up where he left off or regresses like he did in 2008 before he got hurt and went on IR.

It seems you are the one missing the point and giving crappy advice. As for who has the upper hand going to camp, would you want to wait until OTAs or closer to the time. As for what is obvious, it is only obvious you don't have a clue. Moore hasn't earned the right to be named the starter. How about waiting until he has least played a full season.

And most of us are Panthers lovers not Jake lovers. We were here before Jake and will be after he is gone unlike alot of fair weather fans on this forum.

How can he play a full season without being named starter, especially since he hasn't earned to be the starter?

What he has earned is a chance to be the starter after how he played this year. He will be named the starter if he earns the right based on a great training camp and preseason. He will earn the right to be named the starter before the next season begins when he plays well for a season and shows he can be a consistent winner, remain healthy, and lead us to the playoffs.

Not really very hard to understand.

Agree. Whoever look the best in both training camp & preseasons, he should be the starter, wheter it Moore or Jake or Cantwell or whatever. I mean, that what TC & preseasons is for right?

wyco's got it.

So you guys are willing to start Jake again? Last year through camp and preseason he also looked to be starter material according to the coaches. Apparently, even in practices for the first 8 games he looked well even though he'd bomb game time. If he starts, and bombs the first game we are back at square one.

This is why not officially starting Moore over Jake or anyone else given we don't draft a franchise IS HARD to understand. I can't think of a great young QB on the market the panthers would take.Things can always change in camp (hopefully not by Jake)...

im sorry it should be moore's job to lose.i keep hearing moore hasnt earned the start.go back to 03 when jake took over for rodney peete. he took his job in one game but moore has played in 8(6-2 record) and still cant win the job.i dont get it.

Jake wasn't the starter in 03 and was listed as the third quarterback in camp. He had a better preseason than anyone else but still wasn't the starter. He won that on the field. After leading us to the Super Bowl and outplaying Brady he was finally named the starter before the season in 04 based on his 03 work.

Moore hasn't played a full season or shown he can hold up for a full season. Remember he was on IR all of 08. He has shown he can be be a starter. Whether he is THE starter is due to how he plays in 2010 and whether he works harder in camp, watches film and shows in Fox's eyes he is a football guy.

No one is saying start Jake or Moore. Most are saying let them compete and see who plays better and pick the starter based on performance. If Jake comes out next year and plays like he did in years past, he has every right to challenge for the starter role. As he said himself, the league is what have you done in the last 2 weeks. That cuts both ways good or bad. Frankly I would love to have 2 starters who both can play well so in the event of injury we have someone to come in without dropping off like in the past several years.

The last time we had a quarterback play every game without missing some due to injury was 2005. These days you need 2 guys who can start. If you weren't a hater you could see that simple logic.

Sorry, but I've been to all but 1 training camp since this team was given to us, and this whoever looks the best in TC is bullsh!t.

I've seen everything from Weinke drop ball after ball in the barrel drill, and Matt make more on the mark passes than Jake did all day. Both practices.

I've seen all of the ones that ride the pine make Jake look like pure sh!t, yet he still got the starting job.

I don't hate the guy....I just want what is best for the team. He has been good in his days, and if he doesn't have it anymore...he just doesn't have it.

Training camp, and practice means nothing when you show up on game day and lose it for you team. PERIOD!

Unfortunately, that would mean changing himself, as a person.

You obviously don't know what a football guy is. You mistake being laid back from being a competitor and putting it all out there on the field. They are very different. Guys like Williams are laid back as a person but focused and very aggressive on the field. That is a lesson he learned from Vinny a few years ago. From Jake's endorsement recently it seems that Moore might be figuring that out and Jake sounds like he is going to help him with that and mentor him as far as watching film and working harder.

That is what a football guy is. Most anyone who has coached or played knows what we are talking about.
