Personally, I loved it. I would say it was a combination of Fallout 3, Fight Club, and Passion of the Christ. I was very moved and entertained.

i don't see why it's hated... there are some christian aspects to it, but there's a lot to be taken from it either way. and i guarantee you if you simply replaced christianity with eastern mysticism and made the book some kind of eastern scrolls, people would absolutely eat it up. the fact that denzel's character is a christian is the ONLY reason to hate that movie.
