Brandon Graham - I'm Sold

Are you watching this kid dominate the best Seniors in the country? He could play either RE or LE. He plays the run almost as well as he rushes the passer (did you see that containment on the toss). I'm sold, he needs to be in a Panthers uniform next season.

do we have the ammunition.

Who knows? Maybe he will go into the draft and have average numbers (I know his size will always be in question to the Al Davis' of the NFL). He might just make it to us. I doubt it based on this performance but the combine has always made some guys rise and fall so who knows.

my thinking is if we trade peppers..then we would go after a bigger DE more LE type.

6'1" 263 might not sound like much but thats pretty thick for a 6'1 frame. He has great acceleration and pass rushing skills and plays the run very well. Sounds like a perfect fit for a Meeks undersized talented type of DE.

we could franchise pep, then trade him before the draft for a high draft pick in rd 1, then trade down a few spots for a 1st and 2nd or something then take graham in the 1st, a DT and WR in the 2nd.

I'd hate to lose pep but that scenario would have me running through the streets naked on draft day.

I would praise the genius that is Hurney if that happens. But don't count on it.

Perfect Scenario

Late 1st: Get Graham

1st 2nd: Brian Price/ Dan Williams

2nd 2nd: Jacoby Ford or Gilyard

That draft would be one of the best ever for us at least on paper.

Wouldn't mind seeing Lefevour in the 3rd-4th range as well.

We need a Wide Receiver more than anything. Draft one with the first pick we have, no matter where it is.

Pretty much. We've got two receivers and something like four projects on the team right now.

Fortunately, this is a GOOD draft to need WR help, really deep.

It is interesting that people want to trade probowlers for draft picks. Exactly how many sacks did Brown get last year? How many did any of the rookie defensive ends get? How good have we been developing wide receivers we drafted?

I am not saying there is a way to do it or not do it. Just that for whatever reason, we don't seem to get alot out of our drafted players at DE or WR. In fact the last 2 who made a big splash were Smitty and Peppers in 2001 and 2002. Since then...........not much.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
